F4 records

I see Tony wilson has set up the 4th incarnation of Factory records......why does he bother the bands hes got on the rosta are shit apart from durutti column.

Red Cellars never really happened. He tried to set it up for Cat On Form, but they went to another label... the third incarnation of Factory was Factory Records Ltd. which came AFTER Factory Too and disappeared nowhere after the Space Monkeys failed to sell any record copies apart from mine... Raw T are alright though, fresh stuff... But yeah, the Young Offenders Institute are embarassing... what are they trying to do, Northern Uproar 10 years too late? Wow, they're so ambitious! ;)

I thought of sending my demo to F4, but then, do I really want to be signed to a hyperexciting label with acts like "best hip-hop ever" Raw-T and Young Offenders (as New Order/PSB as the name is)?

Although Steve Morriss did say he was a nice guy. Just dont work with him without consulting a decent insolvency practioner.

And just in case there was any doubt. Raw-T are S*it. As in really really S*it. Worse than anything that was ever on factory. And thats quite S*it.

The Factory Yahoo group (or it may have been the Durutti List) were moaning like hell about the F4 website Durutti Column downloads. Apalling quality and technically flawed apparently. So after all these years you still can't trust Wilson to deliver a product!

*When I met him in Manchester I gave him a demo tape of my band (it was still very expensive to do CDRs in 1998... I remember blank CDs going for 10 dollars and no one of us could afford a CD recorder which did cost around 500 dollars or something, we did just four master CDs and then recorded the tapes from those, I just think at how it would be much easier today...). You should have seen him, the happiness on his face just because I gave him a stupid demo tape. I joked and said "Yeah, we're the next big thing! You gotta sign us!". Of course I was lying. We had already split, by the way. But it was worth it just for seeing his face... he kept thanking me... I was amazed because I thought it was me who should have just said thanks to such a legend for bringing it home... You can bet he heard the first track at least. The man has such a passion... He probably didn't like it though, as I had no response, after all we just tried to sound like the Cocteau Twins making pop but produced by Martin Hannett, while at the time he was genuinely excited about Hopper, bless him... :)

i remember wilson banging on about these manc (C)rappers called turdburglar or summat like that awhile back. oh sorry Taw T,Raw F***in T,whats that all about then? Never erd em and dunt wanna ! maybe wilson should just stick to being a tv gimp!
