I found a white label this weekend with an Electro Remix of All Day Long. The record is called (i think) Pacific Mastermind with no catalogue number but it does have a website on the sticker: www.pacificrollexbreakbeat.com

Tracklist:

A1 - Binary Finary - 2001 (Breakbeat PreMix) A2 - New Order - All Day Long (Electro Mix) B1 - Belle & Sebastian - Legal Man (Rockin and Rollin Mix) B2 - Blue Six - Sweeter Love (Jackin Breakbeat)

The New Order mix uses the strings only with no lyrics or bass from the original.

nope, not mistyped. probably not kept up since the record is from 2002 and on a label i've never seen any info about. it was a bootleg so it's not surpising the website isn't active. there's no info about this on www.discogs.com but i haven't tried google-ing for it yet.

well, it's not bad but it's not spectacular either. honestly, i was a bit disappointed when i first heard it but it is interesting after the middle break when the strings from All Day Long come in...it's just a mid-tempo track with a breakbeat, some samples and then the strings come in mid-way through.

Is it any better than the remix of Thieves Like Us done for NOOL?

I mean, that was a miracle considered it was done with 2 versions of the track and Acid Planet... !

i forgot to mention the vinyl also has a remix of Janes Addiction - Stop sandwiched on side 2.

Spotnic, i've got to be honest when i say i don't like the Thieves remix done for this site. Having said that, i really don't love the mix of All Day Long on this 12" but i do think it's interesting. It's not "trancey" or very "housey" and it's certainly not what i refer to as Electro even though the mix is called the Electro Mix. I recently installed Tiger so i haven't been able to properly share this file with others in the Faith but I'd love to email it or send it so others can hear it too.

DoN...of course i'm still digging for gems. Nothing in life makes me happier than looking for records/cd's. Nice to hear about your fun in Barca...
