Just seen the timetables for the Big Day Out's. Nice to see the Order are only playing 2nd fiddle to the Prodigy on all dates, and have made it higher than Garbage. What on earth was Vince Power thinking at Reading 98?!
BDO - nice to see. .

Looks like a corking bill that. All 3 are great live bands.
As for Reading 98, Garbage were already the headliners when NO were added to the bill after the Phoenix Festival got scrapped. Don't think Garbage would have reacted very well to being shunted off the top spot. To be fair to them though they were very good, although naturally they had to acknowledge how ace the Order were beforehand.
Wow, New Order ahead of Garbage.....
I suppose NO has so much history and more a veteran in music than Butch Vig & co..
I do like Garbage though....too bad I missed them playing in Sydney couple of years ago as a support to Alanis Morrisette !!!?? Gee, can't accept that fact..Garbage should've been the headlining act.. Their latest CD is a bit flat though....so much anticipation for that but ends with a ...wimper.
Guess the only downside will be the barnstorming Prodge corps charging to the front as NO play out their set. I might take a few of the ratbag youth out- tug at a few piercings, throttle a few with their thick silver necklaces, an errant elbow here and there.. What do you reckon Big Jarves? Teach a little respect?
;)
Mind you, the stages will be far enough apart at most venues not to cause much of a clash.
The Prodigy and the Order are actually on different stages, but the stages are bang next to each other. Quite a decent set-up it seems, certainly keeps the music flowing.
BTW Jarvis, you'll be thrilled to learn that the beetroot still exists in Hungry Jack's (read: Burger King)extraordinary, wait for it, GREAT AUSSIE BURGER! In fact, one could say it's the damn 'piece de resistance' of the whole bloody beauty.
And if you peel back those two scrumptious buns you'll also find a hell of a juicy Aussie beef pattie, a slab of cheese, some crisp Aussie lettuce- shredded of course, two healthy whacks of Aussie tomato, Aussie onion rings (white), genuine Tasmanian pickles of the highest calibre, some bloody ripper bacon, the seminal beetroot and, restrain the drool please, a whole damn pan fried egg. It's what makes this country great. Pucka bloody tucker.

Incidentally, do you know that Australia now boasts the highest per capita amount of fat people in the world? Behind the States, naturally.

No you're right it's not. I was in Oz a couple of months ago and after buying an Aussie burger in Mickey D's, was confronted with what can be only be described as a burger atrocity. Beetroot! My face was going beetroot I can tell you!
Mind you, I maybe shouldn't have gone up to the counter saying "What the feck is this, where's my Kangaroo meat?"
that is really good to see i was a bit worried they would be doing th3 4pm slot that Happy Mondays and Primal Scream did over the past years
