Let us note once more for posterity that the thing is called the "NEW order JETSTREAM TOUR" and the ads feature the Jetstream single cover and include a link to neworder.cc.

So, it is sponsored by an airline (Jetstream, get it?), and Arthur Baker is DJing, but...

:wtf:

So, they advertised this as 'NEW Order' despite it only being 'ooky and now it's not even the Bass Leg-end himself?!

Class! :thumb:

Sorry, but from a purely selfish viewpoint, I hope this gives the lads grace to practice a few new tunes for their huge upcoming English dates!

It still leaves me as the only person on the forums who hasn't had his picture taken with Hooky.

In the plus column for Cleveland, though, even the "official" newspaper (the Plain Dealer) has Black Francis on the front page this morning. Now that's front-page news.

Errr... I have to ask, what's the point of calling this "New Order Jetstream Tour" if nobody from New Order is part of it?

I seriously don't see the point of promoting it on NewOrderOnline then, it would be false advertising...

Wow. So there are four DJs, and one of them might drop his mix of "Jetstream" into his set. The single's not even been released here, and it's headlining its own tour!

Well I didn't find Hooky to be that great a DJ.

He was all over the place with his mixes at Hiro.

I would hope Arthur Baker is better.

that's bullshit. who in their right mind would pay for this? the messed up thing is that people who don't visit new order fan sites but love new order will see an ad or fliar and pay whatever the cover is to get in and NOT see anyone from NEW ORDER. arthur baker goes way back with new order but the average person would not know who he is and even if they did, it's still not new order or a member of.

and nic, it is false advertising. baker remixes stuff and produces stuff. if this counts as a new order event then all producers and remixers in the world should follow this example and get paid easy cash for something so lame.

He did participate in the writing of a few New Order songs though ;)

But I wouldn't go to a Stephen Hague DJ set just for that

Well, tickets are $20 (plus service charge). VIP tickets are $80 (plus $6 service charge). Of course, the ever-so-helpful website makes no mention of what a VIP ticket gets you -- maybe some bimbo from Solon hands you a complimentary split of Asti Spumonte with a cloth napkin.

I'm gonna go play a My Bloody Valentine CD.

I don't think we should be supporting this event on this site. This promoter seemed to be a pain in the ass from the beginning. He was trying to get us to hire Hooky for like $10,000 for our chicago afterparty. Hooky actually offered to do it for free, if he felt up to it after the concert.

The promoter seems to keep asking us to support their event, and nool really doens't get anything in return.
