A little announcement.....ON Topic !!

Plucked the 911 Dresden and Gubbins mix of Someone Like You off Audiogalaxy last night while I was partaking of some discourse with members of this particular posse, and, though it almost pains me to say it (note the use of "almost" as a get-out clause and as near as you will ever get to recognition of the need to doff cap), it was rather better than I had anticipated. Still didn't make me want to go out and proclaim to the world that DD and JG are the new mixer kings, but it was better than I ever thought it would be, and sufficiently ok to enable me to post here saying so. Still hate the original though !!

I agree it's a big improvement over the original as is the James Holden version. I think Getready could have been album of the year by a mile. If they had ditched Osbourne as producer and had a bit more scope perhaps used Screamadelica as a template and used outside mixers if Bernard is too old for clubs. The better tracks Crystal, Turn My Way, Primitive Notion, Close Range could have survived intact. But some of the weaker ones needed more help IMO and why not Two versions of Crystal like the two versions of Higher than the Sun (I'd go for the Lee Combes one) we are already talking a double album of equal to any released this year if the other poorer tracks didn't have Osbourne's production I think the most relevnt act in the world oncemore, here's hoping for the next one.
