It has to be True Faith. And if you don't believe me, just try singing to it, you will lose your breath before you know it. Well done, Barney!

Barney seems to do okay with that one, but wasn't there some mention on here of him not singing certain songs anymore just cos they're unsuitable for his range?

"Face Up" always sounded like a bugger for him to get his tonsils around.

Good topic. And I agree that the chorus to True Faith is hard to keep up with.

How about Thieves Like Us (the chorus)? Whenever I sing it I end up just as out of tune as Barney does. And with his Northern dialect "us" is pronounced "uzz".

We All Stand is quite tricky to sing too I think. As the singing sounds out of key to the music (to me).

Elegia?

I sing True Faith quite well to be honest. The hardest is probably Perfect Kiss because of it's high pitch.

Agreed, that is a tricky one to do. I can't really do it right.

That is because most of the things pre-1986 were not really on Bernard's key... were they?

Probably why you don't hear Sunrise also... I believe it might also be a reason why they dropped the Perfect Kiss... Bernard seems to go for the low-tone songs now...

(Waiting for Al to proove me wrong, which he will of course  )

Well, I might seem like a miserable git, but I actually can spend a lot of my time singing (sometimes whole albums in one go, so you wouldn't want to live with me)!

I used to struggle with a the pitch on Thieves..., Regret, and True Faith, but I find I can do them quite comfortably these days.

What I have found is some songs feel good to sing (such as BLT and all of Technique) while songs like True Faith, Blue monday, Confusion and others don't very often. I take the greatest pleasure in singing BLT - it's fantastic to sing. I wonder whether this could be a true test of truly great song?

True faith is quite dificult to sing and even to play i've seen played live on violin and cello and is quite dificult. And since 88 or 89 that Barney sings the Perfecto Mix (a bit slower than the original live version that is on BBC Radio 1 Live In Concert)

TBTHOG has the same kind of problems to sing as true faith but it's not so difficult.

I think Doubts Even Here is dificult to sing and it's a song with one of the biggest lyrics.

I can't master the Japanese version of Krafty.

Neither could Barney.

Such A Good Thing for some reason. I tried on a cover of it, but it just didn't sound good so I said fuckit.

the only hard bit in True Faith is "my morning sun is the drug that brings me near" really - you need a decent lung capacity or circular breathing to do that one...

"If I keep my distance in the season of this slender hell" in Young Offender is damn difficult to get a breath into also, and its quite long (due to being slow)

I always seem to have problems with Your Silent Face...I mix and mingle words from the first verse into the second and vice versa. I guess I need Barney's auto cue to scroll the lyrics for me when I'm driving in my car.

TPK is one of the hardest for me personally.

I thought it was the 30 hours of programming required to get it ready again. TPK has been played about 157 times.

Procession must be a tough one if Barneys denies ever singing it in the first place.

Sunrise, one of the few I never memorized. Guilt is hard to sing without laughing.

It's hard when I catch myself singing along "J-E-T" :evil4: .

Wow - you REALLY like Jetstream!

I can't think of any song that makes me hard. I get a tingle down my neck when I listen to some tracks.

Mine is World (The price of love)

That song is up and down like a rabbit on a kangaroo.

P.S. Doesn't Barney seem a bit obsessed with the price of love? It's here: 'if we could buy it now...' - it's in Crystal: 'here comes love, it's like honey, you can't buy it with money...' and it's on Guilt is a useless emotion: 'real love can't be sold, it's another colour than gold (I need your love) I just want to buy it' and I bet theres more...

Does Barney have issues with ladies of the night?

Having just murdered Crystal in an impromptu performance in Greece, that would be my pick as a difficult one to sing. Did manage to get five whoops in though!

You should have called Sophia, she can do it

I agree that Perfect Kiss is the hardest because the of the highs, and the same could be said for Thieves Like Us.
