OK actually this was like 3 days ago....but anyway.

Was down, low, depressed, confined, and feeling generally crappy. oh woe is me the world is a dark place devoid of joy and hope.

Then you stick on Irvine Meadows 1987 and hear Bernard picking a fight with a near or actual capacity crowd in the largest permenant venue on Earth, and you realise that all is well in the universe and tha harmonious balance of nature is just fine.

"We've got these faggots in the audience........everyone!"

Made me little heart swell with pride.

Yesterday I was getting really frustrated at work, then put on the earphones and popped in WFTSC - realised once again that I couldn't give a toss about everyone that hates this album, it's their loss.

i had fun playing around with the jetstream u-myx and vastly improved on the original.

Listening to Mr Disco made my morning. :thumb:

I tend to put on "Temptation" (either from Substance or from '82) anytime I find myself interested in a girl for the first time. Always gives me hope....for now

Oh, sorry, I didn't see the "TODAY" part of the title...I didn't listen to them today :nervous: (kinda a double Gram Parsons listen with "Sweetheart of The Rodeo" and the first Flying Burrito Brothers album)

Lonesome Tonight made me feel vaguely idealistic and heroic for shutting myself into the house all day today.

I was listening to Procession whilst staring at the Full Moon. That was kind of scary, uplifting and depressing at the same time.

I selected Blackpool Scamps on my ipod at work and was transported back to a time when anything seemed possible. 25 years on and they haven't let us down, have they?

only once or twice :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have shitey days turned around by a twang, a clever couplet, or a well timed "fook off". Mates say things like... "they're so depression" "how can you listen to them without topping yerself"

Poor creatures will never understand the simple beauty of the intro to ceremony, far less the stranger album tracks.

I was distraught the first time I heard Krafty.....and that 2nd verse reduced me to a happy little fluff ball :)

Listening to BLT and Temptation at full volume on the way to work this morning made my day......... also probably annoyed everybody sitting around me on the train!

But hey! Cheered me up!

Bernard was supposed to come over and help me move a sofa up to the attic, but then he called and he's all like, "We really need to practice for this gig Friday," and I'm like, "What. Ever."

Fuck 'em.

I've got three little ones, age 4, 2 and 1. Every night after dinner, we have bathtime then music and storytime. We lie down on the cushions together and listen to two songs and talk quietly about the instruments and the lyrics and and the big two can sing along to choruses. It's sweet.

This week we're listening to Run Wild and I always get a lump in my throat when we get to "you're the kind of person/ that I always wanted to be with/ You're really cool/ and you always say the right things to me..." I love that verse, it makes me cry. What beautiful lines!

So getting back to the point, today New Order reminded me of how love should be...sigh!

Oh, I must confess. The other song we are listening to this week is Every time You Go Away by Paul Young; my children love to sing "you take a piece of meat with you".

Well, listening to the title track of WFTSC soothed my nerves a bit in the freak thunderstorms around Portland on Sunday night, on the long drive back from Seattle.

Lemme guess....you REALLY bloody hate champcars...so you "got outta dodge" so to speak ? :)

in case you have no idea, they were in Portland Sunday, which I know because I could no longer watch F1 insult you guys and turned over.

Actually we had some odd weather at the weekend, storms out over the sea, too far to hear but close enough to see plenty, went and sat on the seafront all on my own, and I SO wished I had my "new order make head music" playlist on me :(

New Order can do a lot for you. If you feel you got some anger you wanna get out then play one of those early 80s live performances of EGG, like the best ever from The Ancienne Belgique on the Umbrellas In The Sun DVD or the Stockholm one... One! Two! Three! Four! Everybody hit the floor! Five! Six! Seven! Eight! Everybody's feeling great! Whoooooooooorgh!!! Be careful, you could be tempted to smash everything and tear the whole place down, but what a great feeling of wild power! And if you're open minded enough and wanna just hear something uplifting, well, now we have Krafty! :thumb:

those song intros!

Must look into that Belgium gig.

Surely there is no extra inducement needed to bust a gut at the cack that man sumner comes out with on 5/5/5. Between harassin the crowd, doing dodgy jokes about Ian and sabotaging songs cos they know there's a camera around.....it's an all round cabaret :)

Nothing. They can't even pay my bills, these morons.

I listen to this 80's 12" remix station on iTunes and when they play New Order I just want to get up and dance... pretty good selection too!

I do have to say, however, that the station is pretty fond of Erasure!

Nah, went to Seattle to watch some baseball, had never seen the Mets play before in person. Probably would have gone to the races if it'd been any other weekend, but hey, I bought the baseball tickets in February.

When I was in the States I remember thinking, "how come these guys have the reputation of couch potatoes.....how the fook do they find time with all this stuff to do" Oddly enough, that very choice caused my brain to short out one night and I had to stay in watchin TV:)

But then, I'm from Northern Ireland, not only that, but the exact spot they'll use if the universe ever needs an enema. we have choices...get drunk at home, get drunk in a pub, or, the moment it starts staying light after teatime, you can go and sit at the beach and get hypothermia while egtting drunk.
