Nowt flash there then, apart from new 'oldies':(

Seems Blue Monday (original) and Blue Monday-95 are the only ones left out, and the "perfecto" version of World.

A bit sad, it would have been complete with those..

Yes! That is very disappointing. I actually love the original BM video.

Now that must be a first... David posted it on here before I did!

Just got home and saw the mail ;)

I merged the threads...

Seems like almost everyone's dream came true - the "comlpete" video anthology. Well I would also suggest, as extras, a small collection of rare live performances: EGG from 1981, Temptation from 1982, something from 1984 BBC special, - well something like that. It'd be perfect.:thumb:

Can't believe they are leaving off the original Blue Monday video - arse. Someone badger them into putting it on!

It's not complet without the original BM... They'll never do anything perfect

And the reason for leaving off the original "Blue Monday" video is?

Any ideas how we can pressure Rhino to put it on before it gets pressed? A New Order video compilation without the original "Blue Monday"...

Rhino? Is it only going to be Region 1 then?

All my PC's gracefully ignore region coding (and encryption), but my main players don't, and I would prefer to see it in 32" flat widescreen without a PC doing the decoding...

Whats the video for the Perfecto World?

So do we know yet if this an American only release, or a proper Warner Music and rest of the world release?

We must be happy we'll finally have the very most of the New Order videos, and two brand new ones! :thumb: BUT please tell me I'll be able to play it on my DVD player... it'll be Region 0, just like the LTM DVDs, right? Eh?! RRRight??!! PLEASE!!! :D

Typical NO to do quite well but drop a bollock in the middle. The Happy One, the original BM video and the old 'live' video for EGG are missing. Though they could make The Happy One into a menu screen, they probably won't.

I wonder when they're sticking out A-slightly-updated-NewOrderStory, PFOD, Academy, and (hopefully) Montruex out eh?

I guess the executive producers found it too much to have THREE BMs on one collection DVD :D

By the way, the first BM was not really official, was it? I always thought it was a kind of experiment and nothing more. Tell me who actually SAW it on TV back in 1983? :evil4:

Mick, it's easier and cheaper to get a good scanning DVD-player. I've got JVC - it's SUPPOSED to read only American DVDs but it reads also European discs without problems. So once you'll get one - there won't be no region boundaries for you :) Or take Sanyo - may sound crap but reads almost everything :)

I'm on it...

I feel those are missing

  • Ceremony (live)
  • In A Lonely Place (live)
  • Your Silent Face (live) - From A Factory Outing
  • Blue Monday 83
  • Blue Monday-95
  • World (Perfecto Remix version)

What else?

At least they will tell me why it's not there... maybe they don't own the rights to the Factory movies?!?!

The project was initiated by Rhino, but will be picked by UK as well, so Region 2 DVDs will be available (probably through Warner Music Vision)

The "Baywatch" Regret is the only take from TV, and there is no live video at all..

EGG belongs to LTM I guess...

Me thinks there's only one vid for each of TF, & R&R except for R&R Patti, which should be on the dvd.

I don't see why EGG live should be on it (already out anyway), nor the happy one (not a single). Or your silent face - live (also not a single).

They tend to seperate both groups in such compilations.

Sounds like we need a Joy Division singles DVD...

Or... Maybe... A limited edition extra disc with key Joy Div single videos ala the Retro extra...

I predict a riot...

the Video for True Faith 94 is just the regular TF Video with clips of other NO video's Cut in (BM88, TPK, ETC..) its really pretty useless

i havent seen BM 83, the 95 one if i am thinking of the right video is all computer generated, gets kind of boring Fast

I was just going to start a topic about where I could find that performance of 'Regret' that they did on a beach that you see a bit of at the end of NO Story but I assume it's the 'Baywatch' thing? If so, my day just got a whole lot better.

PS) This DVD is going to rule. I don't care what's missing.

So, no videos ever done for Thieves Like Us or Subculture then?? Also wonder if the "4th" single from 'WFTSC' will be on there... "Guilt Is A Useless Emotion", perhaps??

Right, went onto the Hackintosh, which has RealPlayer on it. The Perfecto video seems pretty much identical to me.

It is identical... but it uses the Perfecto Edit instead of the single version.

In fact I was in shock when I saw the video on NewOrderStory with the single version, because here they always played the one with the Perfecto Remix...

exellent ,ive been waiting for a dvd collection like this for years and im well pleased its coming out along with the live stuff as well. spotnik was right when he said we are being spoiled and dont it feel good eh:thumb: . cant belive that with a collection like this that some are moaning for more:scratch: new order never give you a full plate and by now id have thought that most in ere would have known that.

Yeah, quite disappointing not to have the original Blue Monday video. That one is classic! I don't find it boring at all... At the time, it was very original and in some way, it's a markup of the period it was done. Makes it interesting from an historical standpoint... besides, the images fit very well to the music and lyrics I think !

I don't like the 1995 video all that much but, eh, if you want the collection to be complete then it has to be on it.

Ditto for the Perfecto Mix version of World, which makes the video far better to watch, and also the Special Circumstance Mix video of Crystal, which nobody mentionned yet.

So they should probably add a bonus DVD and just put a sticker on the package to make up for it.

Does this mean the video for WFTSC is coming out soon?

Yes it does, the single's released in August.

Mal lu il faut croire, je pensais que tu disais qu'il était pas sur le DVD.... et le "Special Circumstance Mix" que je sache, c'est le Bedrock Edit de Crystal.

Enfin, c'est certainement "Crystal – Gina Birch version"..

No one's mentioned the "Live" video for World. It uses the album version audio but shows footage from a show on the 1993 US jaunt. Did someone ever figure out which city it's from, and if the entire show was filmed?

It'll be the one they have a vid for, ie Run 2 (7" version). They'll probably call it Run though. It sounds much the same as the album version, has an extra chorus though and somehow manages to a bit shorter.

There's not actually an extra chorus at all. Just an instrumental break from the end of the album version slotted into the middle of the second verse. The ending is shortened a bit too, so that's how it manages to be a bit shorter.

No kidding, that's the big question I have.

Make no mistake, there's a special place in Heaven reserved for Rhino for releasing this - but I'm hoping and praying that it's the full length video and not the neutered version on the International bonus dvd (which was put out by Rhino).

The short version on the International DVD is a piece of crap. The long version is great.

Please let it be the long version.

Amazon DVD: Pumped Full Of Drugs / NewOrderStory / Subtance

Obviously it's a boot but then it's odd that it's sold at Amazon.com.

I already have PFD on the Japanese DVD and VHS versions of Substance, Best of and NewOrderStory. However, my UK version of NewOrderStory is only a PAL>NTSC dub and I would be tempted by this boot if it had that edition. Unfortunately, this appears to contain the truncated North American version, if the total running time listed on Amazon is correct.

*Yeah, actually my doubts were stupid... it's absolutely obvious anyone making this DVD, Rhino or Warner it doesn't matter, wants to sell it on the European market, where the most of the fans are based. I think Region 0 will be the most likely version (if LTM did it why not anyone else?!), if not they'll make both 1 and 2.

PS: I think LTM doesn't own EGG or anything else. They're just reissuing material which mostly belongs to the artists since Factory shut down and nobody bought that stuff. Luckily, as nobody else could have made such a brilliant work in rediscovering these jewels hidden in the past...
