They play T in the Park in Scotland on Saturday - will World in Motion be on the set list?! (Considering it was their best song at Glastonbury). Don't mention the horse..

I think it would be enormously funny, if they did, and I wouldn't put it passed them. The Scot's have a good sense of humour, anyway :D

Zero chance. And if they do I'll eat my own head.

Ho ho!

"We're singing for England! En-ger-land!"

Mind you they must have played it all over and not just in the UK's most populous nation. Does anyone know (for instance) if they've played it in Germany or Japan etc?

Has only been played three times

Why on earth would they play it anywhere outside of England? A complete irrrelevance. Unlike Shug though I like the song. Reminds me of a fookin brilliant summer.

Maybe they'll sing - "You're playing for Scotland, Scot-er-land!"

Dont worry your pretty safe.

They only played it at Glasto cause they had to drop BM cause of an agreement* with Coldplay about not stealing their thunder and doing any Kylie.

They also played "World In Motion" at Old Trafford and Hultsfred Festival (Sweden!) in 2002. Shug kindly sent me a video of the Hultsfred Festival, including of course his favourite New Order song. :D

That's 3 times I've suffered it then:nonono: Come up with a sarcastic return now Baldy:thumb: Other than the En-ger-land bit it's a good song. Takes me back to my last couple of months at school, when finally people woke up to New Order, I'd been banging on about them for a good 3 or 4 years! Pity it was that song ;)

That's one my favourite NO songs, so I'd love to hear it anywhere in the world. But that English logic tells them not to perform it anywhere else... (apart from Sweden :skeptic: ). Play it in America. Since NO are English that's alright with us - they just express their love for their motherland. Why is that bad? People who hate the English context, shouldn't attend NO shows then :)

You're right, but I think you have to be British (or at least live in the British Isles) to understand it. The whole Isles are timewarped in mad ancient traditions that will go on forever. Scottish antagonism towards the English being one of them (and most of them only do it to piss the English off)...

Even though it was on the setlist as given to the BBC?!

While on that subject, did anyone else notice the subtitles they put up when playing Love Vigilantes on the BBC3 coverage? It said "Love Vig" which is what they put on the setlist. Daft BBC didn't know the full title!!

Conspiracy theories are usually false. I guess New Order didn't play "Blue Monday" just because they ran out of time.

The manager of the English football team is Swedish, and we had beaten Denmark 3-0 that very day.

Er, not that Bernard knew we'd got a Swedish manager at the time?! Or, at least, just didn't seem to know his name, from what I remember?! Bless.

One day you'll have to tell me why the coaches of national teams are not from that particular country.

Doesn't make any sense... really!

One way or another but it does make a sense. :thumb:

Only nations that can't play football use this strategy. :thumb:
