Temptation.

Ceremony

I can't believe they ditched it from the setlist but not some of the other rubbish

Stuff from the 80's. Sunrise, Procession, Orginal True Faith.

I would like Ceremony to be a permenant fixture on the setlist..Its been a while since they played it..and it's one of their best songs,if not theee best!!I live for it,and they won't play the bastard anymore:(

We all stand - pure class, simple but different

I love the E.G.G./Temptation segue from... Barcelona 84! Haven't listened to it for a while but the recording is so clear and Bernard's in great form.

Love Vigilantes, the opener from Chicago, and sold me that New Order is the greatest band ever.

Temptation:bow2:

For me it's the version of Paradise from '98 gigs. (also on the "In session" cd). Really lifts the album version to a different level and perfectly captures everything that is good about New Order.

BLT, just because of Barney's enthusiasm for it.

EGG or Hurt

Age of Consent or Subculture.

Temptation's a gimme :thumb:

Mine too, he can't keep in tune on it though, which makes it even more appealing.

Recently, would say LWTUA due to audience reaction and the Hooky, Steve spectacle.

Depends what you want it for. Getting the front rows up and moving would have to be something like Sunrise or Age of Consent. Novelty value would have to be something like ICB (though it ain't a boogier!).

Overall oldmonkey favourite live song though will always be the mighty Perfect Kiss.

Always want to hear Sunrise and Vanishing Point but the original Perfect Kiss was excellent.

These days I'd say Crystal and Temptation.

used to love them doing face up but of late temptation and crystal have been excellent:thumb:

Of the current tranche: Crystal, Love Vigilantes, Transmission, Temptation. Ones I'd love to see back: Sunrise, Face Up, Age of Consent, Dreams Never End, Perfect Kiss and, most of all, Ceremony.

I am a virgin to this. Be gentle. Have to say I loved the chaotic dance madness of 'Fine Time', Reading '89. The Mancs in the crowd went wild. That, or "Atmosphere' at Ally Pally NYE '98/'99. Such a shock to hear Joy Division. Nice lightshow, too.

For visuals it may be Elegia @ Macc '85

Why did Barney smash up his guitar anyway?

Also at Macc '85 when Hooky launched his bass into a Moston lads face.

The D went horribly out of tune, then the whole thing started overloading. Problem with an instrumental as set opener, if you soundcheck other songs with vocals instead of that, sometimes the foldback levels can be too high. It sounded terrible, he knew it, he reacted. At least he had others to choose from!

Denial was the faceache song!

Could'nt agree more:clap: add on YSF,Run,All Day Long,lonesome tonight....but as you said about Ceremony..I crave for Ceremony's return:music:

Ceremony has been, and always will be for me, the song that I enjoy hearing the most. Age Of Consent is a very close second.

Now I don't know about most people, but to me, Weirdo is such a great song, and it sounds good live too. I can imagine Barney now trying to belt out that high key chorus. Also, listening to a lot of the old 80s gigs, Round & Round sounds great live.

And of course, all your usual Regrets and Temptations sound great live, but come on, it's getting a bit boring now don't you think?

Time for change, but I guess it's too late, and we're never going to see a varying set, it's gonna be the same as it has been for the last 5 years or so.

I guesse for me and most that it has to be Ceremony. But we all know that the old ?Age of Consent has to be up there. Two good slow live songs would be Turn my way and Theives like Us.
