I think BLT by Frente! is good.

And Dead souls by Nine Inch Nails and Transmission by Low are also worth listening to.

I think Frente BLT DO justice to the orginal version. It does not sound in any way like the original one but the feelings this track gives you are the same. When i first heard the track on the radio, it was just like listening to the "real" BLT again. Anyway, it is a really good cover especiallly when you compare it to the same song covered by Commercial Breakup!!!

Have you listened to the most recent cover of Ceremony done by The Echoing Green? I think it's pretty nice. Not sure, but I think we've put it in the cover versions section of this site (multimedia menu).

my favorite new order cover is Temptation by the Affordable Floors.

I did a gig in 1989 and opened with Touched by the Hand of God - I've even got it on tape. Ferente's BLT wins it for me, and I've got that on tape. I wouldn't mind Paul Weller doing Temptation, I'm sure I could find a blank tape for that, mmm, no, I've used them all.

What about Moby's version of "New Dawn Fades" from the film soundtrack to "Heat"??? (Bloody good film.) I'm not a big fan of his but he respects the original and tries to sound like an American version of Ian Curtis. He also did a quieter version live for BBC2 ,which I've got on video somewhere.Quite profound me thinks.

I agree, Velocity Girl's "Your Silent Face" is really good as is Galaxy 500's "Ceremony ". I have to say that I don't like Orgy's "Blue Monday" though...
