If he's 48 (or 47, or 49?) now, then he was 28 in 1985, but he looks like an 18 years old boy on this pic.
I know, in 1985, which that was apparently when that particular photo was taken, he would have been 29!!!:) He looks like a teenager for crying out loud in this picture! Anyways, I still think he looks good to be 49 (pushing 50). Another thing that's unbelievable is, you know those promo pics taken around 1996 for Electronic's album Raise the Pressure? He was 40 at the time!!!!!!!!!!!!! His voice sounda incredibly young too and I also think he's a cutie no matter how old he is.
It looks like Barn and Hooky were both momentarily suprised - their hair is standing on end! Amusing pic, thanks

It's a magazine cover from 1985 actually, but nothing says it was taken in 1985...
When you think they did the Perfect Kiss that year, I don't remember them looking so young in that video... 
I still think that Steve looks almost the same now as he did in Joy Division. None of them have done too badly looks-wise when you consider the amount of late nights, long tours, drugs and alcohol (and in Steve's case, cigarettes) that they've been through!

See the poster behind Barney's head? The one with the 7 on it? That was a poster done for their NY gig in '83, so it couldn't have been taken before then. But yeah, they *do* look really young...

he always looks so much older than the others,its the beard probably..tho now Hooky and Barn look much closer in age.Steve looks much younger than the pair of them these days....
If you block out Hooky and Gillian you basically have what Franz Ferdinand base their entire 'retro to death' image on these days. I swear if you showed some clueless teenage FF fan that photo and asked if they thought Alex was looking good these days they'd say oh yes.
As for Hooky, he's got that real "A-ha Take On Me" birds nest going Smart! :D How much of the ozone layer was eradicated to get that one regularly assembled I wonder?

Ah, well, I still have that issue (but I'll be damned if I could get my hands on the recent one with Ian on the cover...blatent attempt to get one of the UK members to send me a copy of said issue free of charge

In that video, yes, he looks young and he looks like he could be a teenager in that one.
But I absolutely LOVE his shorts in that one, because I love it when men wear shorts that are above their knees.
