Melbourner CTB and his better half are paying a visit to London as part of their European tour, at the end of August.

He couldn't time his trip to see the real Order in action so the next best thing is to get lashed with the London Order.

I'm proposing Sunday August 28th at a venue to be decided - suggestions welcome. The next day is a bank hol so every reason to go out and get a hang over.

Everyone welcome :thumb:

How spooky is this ?

As soon as I posted the message above, the banner pic changed to....Barney in Melbourne, 2002 !!

Are you watching every post, as they're typed, Nicos ? ;)

CTB = CandyTheBear, a variation on my original nickname CandyTheDog (Ian's pet). The 'bear' bit was bestowed on me by some fellow NOOLers after a meet-up at the NO Melbourne Metro gig in 2002; apparently I was more ursine than expected.

Many cheers to JG for this - and yes Tim, a gig would be great, but I sense you're taking the (Rocket)Mick; it seems a little OTT to set up a gig for two insignificant visitors from the colonies and I'm sure you lot could draw a bigger crowd than two...hopefully...

AgentW, would you like to expand on your warning regarding JG and taxis? I thought it was Jarvis that posed the greater danger when it came to these vehicles; apparently he has an unnatural attraction to the drivers, particularly the 'dusky' ones. CTB :bear:

I kinda skipped over the first post and thought it was a band. :evil4:

you can ask JG yourself when you get to london, but i will say this: you may feel rather ill after a taxi ride with our giles! :evil4:

i wouldn't know about monsieur jarvis--i made him take the subway to get that true, eau de urine new york experience.

No I wasn't taking the piss, we are looking for another gig around then anyway, it would be nice if we could do a show when we had some of the more far-flung Vikings in town to see it. How long you around for?

I am sure I could be available, meeting other NOOLERs is always a treat, especially one that looks like a bear!

Isn't that the day the Mondays play Clapham?!

Warning: the bear will guzzle beer, recount obscure marsupial fieldwork and wolf down kebabs quite ferociously. Keep your children at home.

It certainly is - so there is an option for where to go!

Oops, I'd overlooked this !

Ok, how about we meet in a boozer in Clapham in the afternoon and those who want to go over and see the Mondays can do so and those who want to carry on drinking can do so.

I'd favour seeing the Mondays, and drinking inside the venue. Also on are Stereo MCs, The Farm, Flowered Up [weekend-AAH!]], Fat Boy Slim and Paul Okenfold. Mani and Clint Boon are doing DJ sets.

Who's up for this ?

CTB, I will sort out 2 tickets for you if you want to do this.

Shame... the 28th is my 1st wedding anniversary - The wife has come to accept the Order as part of my life, but it may be a bit of a stretch to have a NO related anniversary.

Slim possibility of meeting up, but defo wouldn't be going to the Mondays gig.

Hmmm - a bit tricky, this. Seeing the Mondays et al. is rather tempting, but I have to keep in mind that this is our first visit to London and we'd be more inclined to spend a lot of time doing the usual daft tourist-y things, (we are only there for 4 nights before we head up to Manc and York) so I'm not convinced we have the time in our schedule to commit to Get Loaded (plus the LadyBear quite rightly considers SWR a fcuking disgrace after recently viewing the 24HPP DVD extras, so no real loss from her perspective!), very kind though your offer is, JG.

I'd have made time, mind you, if the Order were playing...

We're in town from Aug 26th-29th, then briefly on the 4th Sept before flying back home. I'm happy to meet any or all of you lot at any of these times, depending on what suits you best. JG's arvo-boozer-in-Clapham idea for the 28th is sound, but if the preceding or following days is good for, say, a Digital gig (and subsequent piss up), I'll be thrilled...

Incidentally, there's absolutely no obligation for anyone (that's you as well, JG) to bother too much about this - we are going to have a great time on this trip anyway; a meet up would be cool but I understand if it’s not practical. CTB :bear:

See the European tourdates for CTB and the LadyBear in the above post, Timbers. Would love to see you lot ply your trade live, so to speak :thumb: Let me know if you set a gig up on those days. CTB :bear:

Not sure what I've done to the formatting in this thread - just working my usual 'magic' I guess.

Tim, if you can see this, I've emailed you the dates of the UK leg of our European trip to your 'known pleasures' addy. If you lads are not going to be doing a gig, no probs - but I welcome the idea of a beer any time!

Who'll say who's the bear, CTB or me then? :evil4:
