Does anyone know what the song "Everthing Gone Green" is all about?

Could it be about a drugs experience, the future of Britains re-cycling habits, or what?

Please enlighten me.

Something about staying up all night recording in the studio and seeing the sky being greenish.

It's about eating too many eggs and feeling sick.

It's about looking at something white in bright sunlight for too long and then looking away. Suddenly... everything's gone green!

Don't try this at home.:dead:

It's about the Vikings!

It's a neo-Marxist critique of Rampant 20th century capitalism and the denationalisation of state machinery.:read:

All New Order songs are about shagging, wanking or drugs.

It's probably the fifth time that I've posted this.

Its about being sea sick. Come on, its obvious. Shame really, it must have taken Bernard a long time to get over his sea sickness so he could enjoy sailing.:nonono:

I think it's about Barney's abduction by aliens. It's all in the first verse...

could you elaborate on this- maybe there is something i'm missing, not on the drugs but the other stuff? always thought that there wasn't that much sex in New Order songs, I would love to be enlightened though!

Thought somebody would have posted the real reason behind the title if not the lyrics before me!

Bernard once said in an interview the title of the song came about because when they went into the studio to record the track there was snow covering the immediate area and fields beyond. And when they emerged (two?) days later all the snow had melted from the fields and there was brilliant sunshine and.... Everything Had Gone Green!.

That explains the title but god knows what the lyrics are about:shrug: ?????

In an interview years ago Steve said he had a problem as a child where he would pass out and everything would go green, i always thought that was where the title came from, but could be wrong. As with most early NO songs the title and the song are completely unrelated, pretty much like the above post!!!

Thank you for a sensible response. I get fed up with so much crap being written on this site. Mainly from me!!!

I read about the emergence from the studio and and the ground was green from Spring or snow melting.

Never try to find great meaning or secrets to life from NO lyrics. They are for amusement not dogma.
