I was looking through a used record store today before my work shift and I came across a DVD with a grey cover and the Factory logo of the man holding his ears on the front. What is this? I haven't seen this anywhere, aside from there. Is it just a compilation of Factory artist performances? Is it worth buying?

my first reaction was that this is the 'A Factory Video' comp from '82 but on checking the sleeve, it does not have the graphic of 'use hearing protection' which is on the 'A Factory Sample' ep sleeve. So don't know

HI. In fact, it's the Hmv exclusive edition of '24h Party People' 'bout Factory story (with, of course, a great lot about JoyDivision and NEWorder) : FacDVD424. Best regards, Didier RAVEANE from Belgium

I've got this - the pic of the head is from the first Saville artwork for the first factory gig at the Russell club - although in true Saville style, the head is actually nicked from the UK's Health and Safety Executive leaflet on avoiding hearing loss!

And it's also somewhat rare. But I don't remember how many copies were made. They are numbered. Nice item.

I thought this had a light blue front, instead of grey? Or maybe I'm imagining something else.

It could be a 2 disc set boot of old factory vids. Its worhtwhile, as it has a quite a bit of the Order. Inc the original crappy Blue Monday vid. Be warned however that it also features a lot of crap Factory artists, and the quality is defo not DVD quality but a copy of old VHS tapes. Also some of the clips/ performances were recorded quite amerteurish to begin with.

If it says '24hour party people' across the top it's the legit. limited edition HMV double DVD of the film - buy it!

I'd go with the rest and recommend that you buy it if you have the funds. Sounds like it's the collectable DVD - if you don't like it, I'm sure someone here or on Ebay would be happy to take it off your hands! :thumb:

So which one is it. The boot of old Factory (Ikon FCL) vids or the limited 24hpp?

The reason I know about that 2 disk boot is because Shergs got one of those off the net.

I went back to check, but the DVD was gone. I probably wouldn't have been able to buy it anyway, considering that the money I'm earning at my job is for school.
