Gillian in the Bath

Can Somebody please tell me who interviewed Gillian Gillbert while she was laid in a bath on the 1980s Channel four programme "The Tube" It's been doing my head in for quite a while ???

It was of course Tony bloody Wilson!.Shame it was him naked and not Gillian!

Oh,hold on... The Tube?.I know she was interviewed in the bath (fully clothed) by Wilson for the Play At Home thing but i don`t recall The Tube

And she was interviewing him.Not the other way round.

Anyone know if this is available anywhere, I remember watching it, doesn't it end with them all having a picnic and Hooky riding off on a bike.

I'd advise you all to send me your copies so that I can destroy them properly. Better wrap them in a brown paper bag first though. And...errr...use tissues for package stuffing.

i did have the whole doc on vid at one time.now have just got bits here and there which i cant remember how happened

They were having a picnic and cutting into a lovely cake in a garden.Hooky rides into the garden on his bike with Alan Erasmus ? on the back. And Rob Gretton comes out with his trousers down and then turns back inside.This is all to the soundtrack to Thieves Like Us (the hacienda live version from 20/07/83).also footage of Manchester along with the Thieves soundtrack (the moors ,the old Russell club?,and the city centre). That part of the doc with Thieves playing used to give me goose pimps all them years ago at the age of 16 .

they cut to them at the hacienda a few times during the show - thieves like us, lonesome tonight, temptation and maybe one more? i have it on video somwhere. nice interview with hannett too, i think steve interviewed him, hooky conducted his interview with erasmus while they rode on his motorcycle around the country

Gillian interviewed a naked wilson in his bathtub. neither were embarrassed in the slightest. Gillian wore a summer dress. the camera followed her up the stairs to the bathroom. I remember saville being interviewed wearing a bundeswher shirt, cant remember who interviewed him, maybe barney. A stock question to every interviewee was, "when dyou last have sex?" Very deep! Hannet, interviewed by steve, was asked words to the effect, what hed contributed to New Orders success. Hannet replied, "in a world of market forces,.... nothing!" Brilliant answer that sticks in my mind to this day. I thought the clip of the band performing Lonesome tonight on this show is the most underrated TV performance of the band ever. Classic vintage New Order.

Yeah, tell me about it! i was 19 and living with parents. Watched the show with my mum in the room who looked at me as if to say, "what the hell have you got on the telly?". I remember the cake in the garden, the motorbike bit, Gretton interviewing himself on a telly, that fat bird on an exercise bike and the outdoor images with "thieves" in the background. It was the bubbles that emerged from the bath at one stage that encapsulated the moment for me!

The Bunnymen's "Play At Home" was far more entertaining.
