60mph has finished its first week at number 43 in the aussie charts. I suppose I should do my part and buy my copy. My local store hasn't got it yet and I hven't had a chance to go elsewhere.
I don't think Crystal made the top 50. Maybe someone can confirm this.

It must be disheartening to NO to see them so low in the charts while Britney Spears and every other steroetypical manufactured pop star rides to the top ... yet their career is often short.
Like how about these artists these days that drop 2 albums and then release a 'greatest hits'?

Back in the day and artist dropped at least 5 albums before a 'greatest hits' rolled around the corner ... the world has a 'fast food' mindset these days, with the attention span of a goldfish.

I was amazed to see a Silverchair greatest hits, i was almost surprised that any of their hits could be labelled as great! The video for 60mph is pretty strange, entertaining though, just strange, i don't quite like the way the guy talks over the music

I think it will keep going up for a couple of weeks yet, there appeared to be quite a few people at the BDO who were just getting into them. And its a EP too which gives you more incentive to buy it.
I think Here To Stay will do very very well though, there is enough NO support to add to the Chemicals fans to push it top 15.
Well I still haven't bought my copy yet. My local store still hasn't got it in yet. They were selling it at the NO signing on Friday but I didn't wanna lose my spot in the queue.
The song does grow on you. It has a catchy chorus.
The mixes are really SHITE though.....but ( hypnotic voice ) you must buy this single...repeat..I must buy this single....
Get Ready has re-entered the aussie charts at number 30 after being out of the top 50 for many weeks now. I think that proves what I said previously is correct, Get Ready would of gone top 3 here if the album release coincided withth them touring.

And yes cos of the BDO the album is rising in the charts and 60mph is doing well also.
Me thinks they should release a new single in about a month to capatalise on this boom, of sorts.
Running the risk of knowing too much, I believe that the only reason for the silverchair 'greatest hits' was as a contract-ender with Sony...

I'd love to buy a copy but can't get it anywhere. I've tried five record stores in Fairfield (South West Sydney) and none had it.
Interestingly four of the five had that day sold out of GR and were expressing surprise at the demand. My Assyrian/Bosnian/Brazilian/Iraqi/Salvadoran/Serbian/Timoreseneighbours must have better musical taste than I gave them credit for.
So what does this mean ? Obviously the distribution of 60 mph is shite and at least some people are opting to buy GR in preference to not getting their hands on it at all.
I had trouble getting it to. Don't bother going to a Sanity store as non of them will have it. I went to HMV in Bankstown for it. They had plenty of copies of it.

Interesting footnote to NewOrder's BDO show here in Perth.. The commercial FM stations have picked up "60 mph" and are floggin it, "That was the hot new groove from N*Sync and now, here's some sizzling new sounds from New Orrrrrrderrrrr!!!"
It's even receiving requests at 6pm from the kids.. Watch for steady sales to continue.

Only last night I saw 2 adds for GR on commercial TV using Crystal and 60mph to promote it. The announcer calling 60mph "infectious".
makes a mockery of what I thought, that New Order would barely rase a ripple with this album. Shows you good music can shine through.
sure the tour has helped, but Crystal was already getting a fair bit of airplay before the tour was announced.
