As simple as that.

Obviously this doesn't mean that it will be released as a single, but I don't see why it would be there otherwise.

Hmmmm.... all seems a bit odd that it`s included.will it really be released as a single?,be great if it was to be released

Hum, I doubt they would release Turn when WFTSC would have been released the week before... :confused2:

Unless WFTSC is a double A side with Turn? Remember we still don't have the tracklisting!

I burnt a copy of the album (WFTSC) with Turn as the final track. The sentiment when Bernard sings "its time for me to go" fits perfect at the end of the album. It would work really well at the end of the singles collection.Bernard has said and sung all he has and its time to go.Still would be surprised to see it released as a single though.Or maybe they might do something like release it in the US but not the UK ?

So far "Singles" is not scheduled for a release in the US.

They are pondering it ;)

I am pushing to know that if they do, they put US single versions on it.

i meant Turn as a release in the US only. Not the singles album.

maybe the "Turn" single will be a gift if you buy "The Singles - limited edition" like the fifth CD in Retro.

Interesting idea...

Wait, I figured it out! "Turn" was supposed to be the hidden track on "Singles", but some dumb intern at Warner got the press-release wrong, the f***wit

it's one of the best on WFTSC. and while i may never hear it on the radio, it's certainly single material. if it gets airplay in the UK and elsewhere, more power to NO!

I'm as happy as Larry!! Lets hope for some brill remixes

NOT HAPPY.

I assume Turn is going to be a single in either the US or UK since, after all, it's included on a set called SINGLES. When the marketing campaign for the album was first revealed, they said there would be three singles. It didn't say they would be the same songs in the US and UK. Another possibility is that they decided the album has enough milage in it that it's worth tossing out another one.

Turn will most likely be used to promote the singles cd not the Sirens cd. I bet the cover will be the same theme as the Singles cd cover.

Either way, Turn would do well in the American market. Right now the indie thing is big...Interpol, The Killers, The Bravery, etc. Turn would be easy to slide into that environment.

By the way, I'll be in Calgary second week of Oct. Up for a beer?

TURN IS CLASS wont be released as a single in u.k.though 4th single off album would not sell.i reckon wftsc as brill as it is will struggle to get higher than no.30 in charts

Turn is fantastic song! Republic had 4 singles off the album so no reason why WFTSC can't, will prob be used to promote the singles collection (if it is indeed included) but its no bad thing

perhaps the bigwigs at warners have been watching our posts on nool with regard to turn and have decided to release turn (best track on sirens!) as a single.:thumb:

we can dream i suppose

First of all...I'm very pleased that it's being released as a single...may get some airplay after all...I still say it could be played alongside coldplay & the Killers without people turning the station (pun intended)

Second, I agree that its not very "remixable" but would guess that a single like 60MPH (with the SLY) remixes would be roughly analogous to a Turn single with GIAUE remixes.

Third...I do think that perhaps the record co. are going to take a different slant/angle and go for the "godfathers of postpunk", "legends" etc rather than "kings of the dancefloor" angle that didn't push many records.

I really don't see how anyone can be upset that we are getting more releases as long as they have potentially new material (e.g. giaue remixes)...

New Order, at least in America, has been over-marketed as just a dance group like Depeche Mode, and it would be great if they pushed the post-punk hybrid band angle, which is New Order's strength and genus

... they must have some plan for "Guilt is a Useless" remixes, and Turn could get good college radio type airplay... to be honest, a "Turn/ Guilty" single makes a whole lot more sense than a "Waiting" single

While Waiting For the Sirens' Call (the album) has been out for some time, there's still a push from the US label. Two nights ago I saw a commercial for the album (MTV2 or FUSE, can't remember) featuring Jetstream video footage. It played the audio to Jetstream and then Krafty...but only showed the Jetstream footage. Bizarre.

Still, it's nice to know they haven't written the album off yet...

Totally agree with all the above and with "Turn" being used for Foxtel promos down here, Warner Oz should follow a potential US single release of the song with a matching one here to make up for Slow Jam(used in a Ford commercial down here) being dumped as a single release in favour of 60MPH.

Well, with 'WFTSC' coming out in a couple of weeks, 'The Singles' following a couple of weeks later, I guess 'Turn' will be out November time. Quite often bands will do a 'Greatest Hits' collection, and put a new single on there (as Pet Shop Boys did with 'Was It Worth It'). Trouble is, everyone buys the album, then the following single doesn't chart very well as they've all got it on the album!

A final single from WFTSC in November would "remind" consumers that there is a singles collection out in time for the Xmas market... Think about it. I reckon those 'Guilt' mixes will surface on the 'Turn' formats - just as some of the 'SLY' mixes did on '60 MPH'.

Of course they should release it. It is a fantastic song!

I'm not happy. "Turn" is the only song on WFTSC which I skip. But my favourite bands always tend to release the songs I dislike the most as singles. Previous examples: DM "Condemnation", Oasis "Don't look back in anger", Franz Ferdinand "Michael", Suede "Saturday night", and the list goes on and on and on... It was only a question of time until NO should join the club.

Oasis 'Don't Look Back In Anger'?? How could that NOT be released as a single. Horribly dated now, but a classic in its time. F.Ferdinard's 'Michael' was ideal for Indie discos, and a great choice. Agreed about 'Condemnation' though.

I'd be happy if it was a video included to Item as well, so it would fit perfectly.

It's because the Jetsteam single is being marketed as Jetstream/Krafty in the US.

I'd be happy if Turn was the 4th single release, after Sirens yeh,I doubt it will be tho...

I'd love it to be released, it says as much about NO as WFTSC does, one of the best sons on the album.

Yes, they should definately release Turn as a single. It´s one of the best songs on the album.

Although it's good for Radio 2 audiences, NO need some serious chart action, and I think Guilt... would be able to do that.

VERY happy if turn is a single, but are we getting ITEM or SINGLES over here - can any aussies tell me?

should they rerlease it or not? what a dumb question, course they should why not?. some folk seem to have forgotten the days of a new order album and NO bloody singles on or off it eh.:brow:

So, the possability looms of a November/December single with Turn as the airplay leader & GIAUA tagged on as the dancefloor filler.

Turn will get a lot of airplay in the christmas market.

Works for me - between the two tracks they fairly well sum up all that's best about NEWorder:clap:

Horribly dated back then too, as it sounded like released 30 fookin years too late! :evil4:

Of course I'm happy! It's a fantastic song, probably my favorite from the album. I wish though, they would have released Krafty, GIAUE, Turn - in that particular order. Jetstream wasn't the best choice when GIAUE is a much, much better dance track. Nevermind that Ana Mantronic rubbish! Ah well, woulda coulda shoulda! I'll be happy with a Turn single (or a GIAUE single, or both!). :D

Good point, and I preferred those days; nowadays they are more commercially canny (well, they try (J-E-T)). The left overs of WFTSC would probably have formed single releases and BSides alongside WFTSC in the 80's, nowadays they are cobbled into a new album...

I think Turn would make a great single, but part of me also thinks it would be great for it to remain one of the album's strongest tracks without release as a single, a la Leave Me Alone.

I've got no problem with Turn as a single, and I can't really understand why anybody would object to it; along with Sirens it's the most typically NO song on WFTSC (and therefore excellent). It does end a bit abruptly though, does anyone else agree? CTB :bear:
