60mph? Why don't you put your foot down Barney?

Barney's boring lyrics. Two stand-out recent examples that make me cringe:

60 mph - Why 60, why not 90? That would sound a lot cooler. 60 is the UK's national speed limit, how boring is that? "We'll drive at 60 miles an hour", Woooh, steady on Barney, we might get a speeding ticket. Keep your eye on that needle and watch out for pedestrians.

One drink wouldn't do it, two drinks were far too much - Are you some sort of lightweight? go on have another. "No, I've had four halfs of Mild already, that's quite sufficient thank you."

It's all a bit misplaced given NO's legendary booze and drugs intake. Come on Barney, give us some cool lyrics. Mind you, he's getting on a bit ain't he?

remeber you can drive at 70mph on a UK motorway, so Barney's sensibly driving well below the speed limit! - must be all those speed cameras that they're putting up:)

Except that the girls were doing that in the wrong lane.

If he'd have used something like...

"Why don't we both take a ride out to Newquay, we'll drive like mad coked-up lunatics"

...that would have sounded a lot cooler. The song's one of NO's rockers, but when he sings 60mph, it sounds like it's gone from a cool as fcuk, rock-hard sound, to "slow down, there's an old people's home on your right, drive sensibly".

P.S. Is he really singing about the Cornish surfer's/piss-head's paradise, Newquay? Perhaps it's a holiday favourite for the Sumner household. Every year, he might load up the Bedford camper van and drive down the M6/M5 (at 60mph of course).
