The Editors' [new?] video

Reminds me of a certain band that I can't quite pinpoint - the instruments, the poses, the way they're dressed

I think the track is Distance, not sure, I'm sleepy and I saw it just a bit ago.

Very small pedantic point of order, it's Editors. Not "The" Editors.

The start of that track is very reminicent of Truth. A fine band, shame some initial lazy journalism means they'll forever be cast as Joy Division rip-off merchants.

Never heard of 'em. They're asking for trouble though being called 'Editors'. The definitive article is screaming to be placed pre-textually.

you're probably right. I couldn't remember the name so I went to their discography on allmusic.com and picked a track that I thought it was. I thought I was tripping, I got one hour sleep after drinking and seeing Pixies [just in case the 'the' police turn up!] and to see Editors dressed up as JD was so fucking bizarre.

I bought the CD last week - the Oz version with bonus CD of early tracks ( called CUTTINGS...now, that also sounded very JD like... ) Anyway, I thought 75% of the album is pretty good....its true I find them more like INTERPOL tribute band, rather than JD...but track 5 - 'All Sparks' is sooooo very JD, in fact I thought it was a cover of a JD song!

The synths on Camera (from the album The Back Room) are so like a New Order or Joy Div tune but i aint worked out yet which one.

Could even be a rip off of Too Late from the Peel sessions.

Yeah I do quite like this CD,but it does sound like Interpol-Lite.There are a two or three stand out songs.Maybe it's one of those albums that grows on me.The best is the closing "Distance" which I do love to bits,think Suede "Saturday Night"!! I hope it does get to be a single.

at the secret gig in (an underpass in the centre of) birmingham last month... (& also at the fleece & firkin in bristol)

cool, i went to see em in glasgow in may i think it was and then again in august in leeds.

I finally listened to them yesterday. I agree with the Interpol tribute band description. Arcade Fire is much more interesting.
