Problem with the Jetstream video...

Just wondering:

Why are there 3 guitars in the Jetstream video, a song almost entirely keyboard-based? We have a keyboard just sitting...there...doing...nothing, which I find a bit odd. And the way Barny hits his guitar in time to his singing makes it obvious he ain't playing it.

It's like Moby playing guitar in his Lift Me Up video when there'sa lready 2 guitarists! :skeptic:

And what's the point of Hooky on bass patrol- whatever he's playing can't be heard!

It's just as real as the spaceship

That's because the band are miming, but don't spread that around, ok?

main problem with the video is that it's a complete bag o'shite!

hopefully WFTSC vid will be better.

Jetstream is a fantastic pop song, whether anyone wants to admit to liking it or not.

I play it when I DJ and it is always a floor filler.

The video annoys me. The reason Phil is playing guitar instead of keyboards is because Phil is a guitar obseesed classic rock wanker.

Have you heard them live versions of Jetstream? I instead of playing his synth parts, Phil has them in a backing track, and he ruins the melody of the song by pissing all over it with his useless guitar playing.

I mean, when NO played Jetstream early in the tour, Phil MIMED the piano and synth parts before switching to guitar (see the Canal show version). Later in the tour, he didnt even try to look like he was playing the keyboards on Jetstream..

I was so happy when I heard Jestream that NO had finally done a synth based dance song again. Then live, Phil ruins it by playing guitar instead of keyboards, just like in the video.

NO need a real synth player.

Damn right. Bring back Gillian!

Yeah, does anyone remember when NO used to release synth-based dance songs?

That's why I can't understand all the people here are like "Yeah, I can't wait until 'Turn' comes out as a single" and "WFTSC is the best track on the new album"

WFTSC is a good song yeah, but it's not anthemic. People are making it out to be, like, comparable to a song like 'Bittersweet Symphony' and while there's no comparison to those two bands (NO rules) WFTSC is just not such a great track to be a single.

They shoulda released "Guiult Is Such A Useless Emotion' - that's a real bad-ass track!

I love Turn, but Guilt is a much better single.

Phil just pisses me off, never playing is synth parts so he can wank of on guitar.....

Guilt is better than WFTSC? That's the first time I've ever heard that, and hopefully the last. Yikes. WFTSC along with Turn is the best recording they've made since Regret and Special.

I must correct you....

I feel that Guilt would be a better 4th single than Turn...though I do love Turn, its not realy single material...

In terms of catchy songs, I think Guilt should have beeen the 3rd single, with WFTSC the 4th.........

WFTSC is another song that was ruined for me in concert by Phil. Insetad of actually playing thise beautiful string parts at the end live, Phil just makes noise over them with his guitar, just like he did with Jestream....

Actually, I think Jetstream should have been the first single, its a lot more catchy than Krafty, and it has a better hook....

I agree that as a single Guilt would be better, but a representative of quality it really ain't.

Sirens is a better song, but as a single...

Phil's a great guy, good stage presence, and a great guitarist, but all the same...

They really should bring back Gillian and have a quintet.

I must be the only person to think I told You So is a great, great, interesting song. How about it as a single. What fantastic mixes it would have, and if you cant dance to it, then you cant dance to anything.

Interesting, yeah, but not great...

But remixing it would be great! :eek3:

Just saw a New Order live thing, I think it's from 2004. Phil is just annoying. I never noticed his whole "Give me guitar or give me death" thing, but now I do and-yeek. Why can't he be bothered playing the synths, man? I'd rather play them than just do a shoddy miming job, which still takes up the same amount of time. Stupid bastard...

I quite liked the Jetstream video because NO were in it. And Ana is a bit tasty in it.
