veritas connection

Hi there,

'scuse the ignorance, but this has been bugging me for a while.

Even tho' I've loved New Order since i was about 13 when lowlife came out, I have no idea the answer to this one.

Basically saw them for the first time in years at Glastonbury this year and picked up an old Ceremony/In A Lonely Place t shirt - which has this veritas logo on it - from the original sleeve design.

But what is this Veritas? (I'm losing count of the number of people who have asked me thinking its something to do with that pillock Kilroy.

Veritas is a right wing idiot minority political party set up by the formerly respectable Mr. Silk!

The font used on the Ceremony sleeve is called 'Albertus'. Sav found an Albertus type specimen designed by Berthold Wolpe in 1937, decided to used the font and also used the logo which was at the top of the sheet.

Ta - I googled it and saw something about that - but whats the significance of veritas? Is it latin for truth?

Relevance? What is this "relevance"? Are you sure you're in the right place?

"Veritas" isn't on the sleeve because it means anything. It's just there because it was on the original type-setting thing that inspired Saville, so he left it on there, that's all.

Veritas does mean truth. Mr. Silk is very truthful and repugnant with it... I loved it when he got caught on TV during the 2005 UK election, being dowsed in a bucket of s**t!
