Can you see any diference between the Round & Round 94 and Round & Round Video in The Best Of tape?

94 versions are like 7 mistakes game but it has only one or two and are very dificult to find.

BLT 94 has diferent vocals in the end and a diferent introduction (or just no introduction if you like).

True Faith 94 and 1963 are re-recorded but no diferent.

What are the diferences you can hear?

Barney's singing the words to Elegia in my copy while playing True Faith.

True Faith 94 - "Cleaner" sound, slightly different arrangement. BLT 94 - Chopped around a bit. Added a few synths. Changed the ending. 1963 94 - Took out the best part at the end. Cut other bits. Generally shortened it. Think the vocals were re-recorded too. Round & Round 94 - Added a pointless bit at the start. Cut all the ending and added a load of synths in the chorus.

And if I'm not mistaken, re: Round & round 94, slightly more of Peter Hook's bass as well....

Yes, the vocals were re-recorded in all 94 versions of The Best Of. Does anybody know anything about how they did that. Who did the additional programming? It seems Barney went to Studio, recorded the vocals and then went out. They did not got together that time.

i think barney did all the additional production, probably with stephen hague.dont think any of the others could bear to be in the same studio together back then from what i've heard.having said that the 94 version of 1963 had a different bass riff from the original so maybe hooky was invoved after all.it was all pointless anyway, the originals were fine

I almost had forgotten about 1963 - 95. Hook did recorded the bass line for this one. I just don't think that Barney and him were together in the same studio those days. The rest of the song could be produced by Artur Baker.

I`ve often wondered, is 1963-94 the same as 1963-95?

Nope.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read a long time ago that only Barney and Artur Baker worked on the CD. Everyone else just took a nice paycheck.

Ok, but the bass line in 1963-95 is totaly diferent, so did Hook have this ready since 1987?

ok i listened to 1963-95 earlier.it sounds like hooky playing it.i suppose having changed other parts of the arrangement it made sense to put a bit of new bass in there aswell.it ends up just sounding like the bass riff in 'thieves like us'.i cant see hooky labouring over a bass riff for 8 years, what he played might have been the first idea that came into his head.best thing about that version of 1963 was the video which featured the actress jane horrocks, apparently a lifelong new order fan.so there ya go..

I didn't see this video. It's not in anywhere. Maybe it's in this site (I don't remember, but I don't have Real Media in the work and in my home I've got a bloody slow conection. Anyway, I think that would be a good question for Hooky himself.
