I've seen Peter play a Fender, a Rick 4001, a Gibson EB3/EB2and I know he plays through a Trace Elliot, but what I dont know is the Trace or the effects he plays through, I've got the rumble but not grind that the man has any clues

Yeah, Hi. Hooky also sometimes uses a Shergold 6-string, but not a lot recently. You can get a semblance to his sound using a Boss Bass Chorus wound out to just under 1/2, combined with heaps of compression, a bit of Digital delay and a little warm, tube-like distortion. Hope this helps... CTD

Hooky has a monstrous kit for the bass sound, all in dual for the stereo on-stage amps, yamaha SPX fx, dual graphics, tuning devices, in all a full rack of 6 units.

The Shergold Marathon bass is only used for Blue Monday.

His bass has a wireless link so he is climbing all over the stage (as per the Gold Coast Show). Great stuff!!.

Actually, the Shergold gets quite a workout, much more than just BM. Watching 316 last night, I noticed it was used on Heart & Soul, Paradise, Blue Monday and World in Motion. In terms of studio material, I'm also fairly sure it's used on 1963 and a fair bit of Monaco stuff, as it has a distinctive sound. CTD :cool2:

Lovely guitar, that Shergold Marathon. Got used on most of the Closer tracks, then on Procession, most of Movement and fairly sparingly since then, apart from half of Brotherhood. Basically anything with a high sounding bass (State of the Nation, As It Is, Paradise) but not Perfect Kiss or She's Lost Control !
