Yes, I've been waiting fifteen long years to see New Order play live and I had resigned myself to thinking it would never happen, especially after just missing out on a recent trip to Europe. Now, one of my great ambitions in life is only hours away from being realised, right here in my city of birth and residence...Sydney, Australia. It's like Christmas, Easter, birthday and Grand Final day all rolled into one. Most of you, I trust, would share this excitement, however I hope that none of you have had to undergo the lengthy wait that I've had. It will end up being twice in one week as well, as they play our big festival, known as The Big Day Out on Saturday. Bring it on...and be prepared to be Touched By The Hand of God....

Welcome David - Sounds like our stories are very similar! I grew up listening to my brother's JD and NO records, so their music is part of my life. My wait is a bit longer than you (Monday evening, then again on Weds - I CAN'T WAIT!!!!), but I share your excitement.

I became a fan of Joy Division in 1981 and subsequently New Order. After 20 years I finally get my chance to see them in Melbourne - bought my tickets ages ago. And what happens? I've just been told I have to fly to Sydney for work next week, meaning I'll miss Garbage on Tuesday and New Order on Wednesday. I'm absolutely shattered and I'm thinking of flying back to Melbourne on Wed night for the gig and then flying back to Sydney on the midnight flight (at my own costs of course). I'm still in shock, because I'm now definitely going to miss the signing session at Gaslight on Wed arvo. I'll have to send the wife to do the honours, but it just won't be the same. Boo-hoo. Face it, the corporate world just does not mix with a rock 'n roll lifestyle. Anyway, I wish all you guys going to the concerts the best gig of your life. Go mental!

Nah i am catching the 2 shows in Melbourne. I would love to see the Sydney shows but it would really stretch the budget :happytongue:
Just a little bit of jealousy here on my part, but quite happy for those of you who haven't seen NO before. I didn't think I'd ever see them around here in the NW in the mid-80's, that's why I drove 13 straight hours to the Bay Area to see 'em in 85. Absolutely no regret about missing a night of sleep. Hope all NO fans in Oz have a lot of fun.
