Best use of JD/NO in a film?

There are a number of candidates, but I'll have to go for the use of True Faith in the club at the start of American Psycho, seeing it being danced along by Charlie's Angels-alikes and some hilarious bad dancing by Justin Theroux. Also the lyrics really compliment the film. LWTUA in Donnie Darko is a close second.

as chris nash (i believe) said, it's best to have a qwest and a factory copy so the factory release can be tucked away into one's collection.

in shaun of the dead, the qwest copy could have been thrown at the zombie, thus saving the factory release from harm.

I once recorded that from the DVD with a sound card capture program and synced it up with Barneys voice with the ACID editing program, but it never came out well because while Diane is singing, Born Slippery, or something similar (i forget) is playing while she is singing the lyrics. gotta find a better source or figure out a way to reduce the background.

Might be cheating but Moby's version of New Dawn Fades in Heat with Pacino racing down the freeway in his cop come sports car at night is the winner for me. Saw that for the first time in a cinema in Leicester Square, recognised the opening bars and thought "Wow!"

There you go. Ah well.

Yeah,Pretty In Pink gets my vote as they feature heavily in that.I actually prefer the instumental TLU,the music you can sew to!! IF i'd seen it probably SALVATION would win:Touched By The Hand Of GOD,Let's Go,Skullcrusher,and the Salvation theme! Bought a copy of "Salvation" not so long ago,only to realise it won't play because it's NTSC video and a bit snowy.If anyone wants it they can have it for NIL pence!

True Faith in "Bright Lights Big City"

Elegia in Pretty in Pink was appropiately used, and I admittedly liked the Kylie, Can't get BlueMonday out of my head play in Layer Cake. But the clear cut winner for me is Temptation in Trainspotting. A great song for a great film.

Gregg Araki's movie "Totally Fuxxed Up" has a guy wearing the "Lowlife" t-shirt and a New Order album in his movie "Three Bewildered People in the Night" Just thought i'd share.

Yep, that was a nice touch. "Unknown Pleasures" is THE definitve album of late 20th Century white male angst best listened to while driving around a neon lit city at night (the same in-joke was used in 24HPP): and what is "Heat" if not a film about white male urban angst set amidst the roaming freeways of LA....???

Gregg Araki has endless references to JD/NO in his movies (there's a lengthy conversation about Ian Curtis in "The Living End): he likes his 80s/early 90s indie pop does Gregg - his latest features a gorgeous soundtrack by Robin Guthrie and even features Slowdive at several points!!

Alec Baldwin and his partner murder an obese mobster on the Long Island Railroad and then Bizarre Love Triangle kicks in and continues over Michelle Pheiffer getting a really bad 1980's hairdo...

A truly uplifting counterpoint that somehow makes a violent scene funny...

While not the greatest use of New Order I still always smile at the two seconds of Temptation played on the car radio as it passes by Melanie Griffith's childhood home in SOMETHING WILD.

Jonathan Demme seems to truly appreciate New Order...

Atmosphere in the french movie Nathalie....that was a shock!!

i certainly hope nobody would misuse their new order vinyl unless their life was in danger! in this unlikely scenario, i'd probably choose thieves like us or movement as my first weapon.
