Just bumped into Hooky in Wilmslow.

I asked him how long the set would be for Peel, he reckoned 30-40 mins.

And made a comment about John Peel I wont repeat that suggests there was some bad blood between them!

Forgot to ask about Manc Aid though, doh!

PS You cant miss his car, Reg plate is a dead give away! :thumb:

Hooray! Hope it turns out to be true. After all, this is the same Hooky who apparently said that New Order were playing V, and that he and Phil were playing the Tsunami gig in manchester back in January.

Eh?? Bad blood??? Seems a bit weird given (a) that they're fronting this show, (b) they were amongst the first to publicly offer condolences (and high praise) after his death, (c) the dedication at Glastonbury and, most of all, (d) who the fuck didn't like John Peel???!!!??

Perhaps Hooky was just being his usual tactless self?

I would imagine so, I remember my Mum phoning me up telling me she had seen "New Order" on the ITV news just after the sad news, turns out it was Hooky doing a short but poignant dedication to Peel.

Just HOW BIG is Manchester so you can actually bump into Hooky? :skeptic:

I mean, sure, I did bump into local celebrities once in a while here in Montreal, but it's pretty rare.. maybe happened 3 or 4 times.

A couple of years ago, a girl here bumped into him at Sainbury's in Salford.

"Peter Hook! What are you doing here?" "Shopping. Just like you."

Classic Hooky-ism. :D

NO hints?

I walked with Country Joe McDonald to his car once; his plates are GIMMEANF. If you're familiar with his work, you know what that means. :evil4:

Sad, but true, although I should correct this next year.

A mates sister is in the music business, she looks after bands, I think Basement Jaxx might be one of them. I saw her on Sat and asked her to look into Manc Aid, she hadnt heard of it then, but hopefully some news soon. She got us those gold wrist bands for Hyde Park so knows a few peeps.

Yeh Wilmslow is full of 'stars', but usually just overpaid crap footballers in fookin 4*4's

Manchester is about the size of a medium Giraffe.
