Similar songs...like them both a lot.
But which one do you think is better?
For me, WFTSC edges it - with better lyrics that can be very personal or are ambiguous enough to apply to many different things.
In both cases, great travel songs....

WFTSC gets my vote. i got beat up
on another thread saying that Turn was a lil REM-ish!
WFTSC for me too...both great. I love the final part of the song... "How many times must i lose my way?...." " a man like...a man like me" classic new order!
another vote for WFTSC: classic NO. turn is one of the top 4 on the album, but WFTSC is...crap, rick astley just came on and i completely lost my train of thought.

i downloaded 'never gonna give you up' onto my computer and it came on after the richard hell and the voidoids set was over. alphabetical order, you see.

It will be no surprise that my vote goes to Turn. Not just the best since Technique, but their best ever.
I have to say i like Turn the most,for me Turn is one of the best songs NO have done in the last few years..
A draw for me - both magic, classic NO. As someone said, WFTSC is an excellent travelling track - it sent a shiver down my spine when I listened to in on a recent train trip from Paris to Bordeaux. Fookin marvellous.

Yes, it is somewhat misnamed. It is much more about traveling than it is about waiting.
I was going to say that Billy Corgan annoys me to no end, but I am thinking of Turn My Way...nevermind. Now that we have that cleared up, I vote for WFTSC. Lyrics do it for me. But Turn would make a great single. Turn, Krafty and WFTSC: my favorites on the CD.

Turn is rem-ish song. Never like the song turn. To safe for NO.

Turn is a cracking tune.
WFTSC gets boring after first verse, the keyboards are so naff, and the way the chorus overlaps the verses is just plain messy. Could have been a good song though.

WFTSC loses some points for the overlapping vocals, but it would always lose to the mighty Turn. Classic, never fails to deliver a direct hit on the New Order nerve. Love every second of it, apart from the last one - but there's always the repeat button!
WFTSC-has gave me hope for more good CDs from NO. I can't remember when I last played a CD this many days strate. I need more!

Agree, as a whole this album is great. 6-7 quality tracks, and about 4 or 5 are classic new order.
back on topic, seems like more people like Turn. Both are great travel songs, but IMO, WFTSC is lyrically better.
With regards to TURN sounding like REM, can't really see much similarity apart from some of the guitar chords. REM are no bad group, I'm a fan of them too...but New Order are one of my all time fave bands!

The overlapping vocals on WFTSC is one of the things i like about it!.Turn loses a point for the rather ordinary guitar solo just after the first chorus.Am not competely convinced by the second verse on WFTSC.All that "midnight train /first to paris then to spain/travel with a document all across the continent" No..But the closing lines "how many times must i lose my way hey/how many words do i have to say hey/what can i do just to make you see/that you`re so good for a man like a man like me" make up for it.
But on the goose pimples factor i think Turn wins it.

I've preferred Turn from the beginning, and the preference has only gotten stronger with the passage of time.
WFTSC may have had a very slight "goose pimples factor" at first, but that has long passed. Turn still has nearly as much as it had the first time I heard it.

Actually, for me, Johnny, when WFTSC had GPF, they tended to come with the "midnight train" line, although you're certainly right that the closing lines are probably more genuine.

That part of the lyrics makes me chuckle, because not so long ago I was travelling across the continent and took a midnight train from Budapest to Belgrade. There was some Italian man in the same compartment who thought he didn't need a passport to travel from Austria to Greece. Not surprising the Serbian border control had to disagree with him

amazing how the songs have their own meanings to us all!
The final verse of WFTSC edges it for me. Listened to both songs twice on my 4 hr motorway journey!
Jetstream and GIAUE are my next faves fromn the album.
