Since Rhino has released a boxed set, a best of collection, and a double DVD set of New Order, will they finally give the fans what they have been clamoring for, at least I can speak for myself in this, in re-releasing the original albums and remastering them, while adding bonus tracks? The original CDs, at least up until Technique, are pretty shoddy. I don't think we really need another singles collection by the group, which is upcoming, as they already have two best-ofs, three including "Substance". A 12" collection on CD would be of greater interest to me.

It's surely only a matter of time, just about every other major act of the '80s, and many not-so-major ones, has done it already. My guess would be that London, rather than Rhino, will be the one to start the ball rolling, just because I think London actually has access to the masters, while Rhino presumably does not.

filthy lucre all the way. real NO fans have no need for such stuff. they complain about the production itself and have already collected everything that could possibly be released as a bonus track. remastered discs are for americans.

I would lay money on it that they (the record company) will reissue all the albums with an extra disc of rarities either next year or the year after...

Would be foolish not to, really...

Absolutely on the money.:thumb:

This has come up numerous times before, but I seriously doubt that there's much in demo form out there, or at least not much worth hearing. Surely a band as widely bootlegged and continually under the trainspotters microscope as the Order would have seen anything worthy democratically "leaked" by, amongst others, those strange but beautiful souls who attend gigs with tape recorders in their underpants???

A remastered Brotherhood would be welcome. Skip the extras.

Really? Isn't the wanky production all part of it's twisted charms (or charmlessness, depending on your opinion).

It'd be like Lemmy without his warts, or Stoke not being shit. Unthinkable!!

not to get off topic but i read that lemmy is having his Warts Removed ! this is from Balbbermouth.net, a heavy metal/punk news website

MOTÖRHEAD's LEMMY To Have Warts Surgically Removed, Sold Over The Internet - Aug. 12, 2002

MOTÖRHEAD leader Lemmy is considering having his famous facial warts surgically removed, according to Spin magazine. "They get bigger as you get older," Lemmy says, "and I've been shaving around them long enough." Incredibly, the bassist/vocalist would also be open to the possibility of auctioning off the gnarly things to a lucky (and presumably rich) fan. "Yeah, I could sell them on the Internet, like that porn-star chick Houston who sold pieces of her labia."

With the release of todays 3 7" vinyl singles it would appear their going the other way.

IMO remastered albums are shit. The old albums charm, is that they are old, and sometime badly produced.

And I like the sound from old vinyls. Have treated all my vinyls very good.

Well, people are free to feel about remasters how they want... The 80s NO albums typically blow away the CD releases far and away for sound quality. I would play my 12"s anyday over the murk that is "Substance" On CD. I think it's a dreaded waste of the technology if they don't do release remasters of some sort. But I guess that wouldn't make a me real "NO" fan, would it?

When Retro was first being mentioned there was reference to out-takes/unreleased tracks from the PCL sessions being released on Retro's 5th disc. I can never remember why that didn't come to pass-can anybody else on site enlighten me again about this? I'm sure that there has to be more than just Murder that got left off the original PCL release.

Strange. When I saw Motorhead last year, he still had them.

Maybe he is waiting for them to grow a little more so he could fetch more cash on ebay with them
