Went HMV today to get myself 21" of vinyl,"sorry mate we haven`t got them-and wont be getting them-cos we no longer stock vinyl or VHS releases" What a load of bollocks!

HMV Cheshire Oaks-Consider yourself named & shamed.

To top it all i walked away from the counter and picked up the 2 disc edition of Ian Browns "The Greatest",which they happily charged me £22 for,and here is the punchline-it was in the rack next to the vinyl version!

And Record Shops/Record Companies wonder why people pirate stuff nowadays... :banghead:

Yeah, that double disc edition of "The Greatest" is proving a bit difficult to get hold of... HMV list it as "deleted", Play list it as "sold out", and only Amazon have it in stock... So grab it while you can! :)

I seriously need to get a contact at Warner to add the New Order UK catalog to our shop, do I?

Might charge on the shipping, but at least you'll get what you want!

DEFINATELY!

Wouldn't mind the extra shipping costs but at least we would know exactly what we were getting, and if folks pay via the site then every thing counts dont it!

I'm going shopping on Wednesday (pay day) and will attempt to buy a few copies of the 7" singles. Depending on how many I can get, I'm happy to send them out to NOOLers for the cost price plus P&P. I'll post later in the week and let you know if I've been successful!

Well, I'm going to try HMV and Virgin in Southend tomorrow, but I'm not holding out much hope (which is why I pre-ordered from both HMV.co.uk and Action last week - neither of which have been sent yet)... :banghead:

HMV Negative always - bunch of cnuts the lot of them! :D

I can tell you, I've seen the wholesale prices for Warner US (we should get an account soon), and Amazon isn't doing profit on much things... it's doing to be tough to beat their prices....

But one thing for sure, if we ever do it, it's doing to be done properly ;)

Went to HMV Telford at lunchtime and they had I would guess about 20 copies of WFTSC and Virgin had about 10 so no problems in Shropshire!!

Haha, the Gamecube is graphically superior to the PS2, as well.. ah. Basically they don't sell well enough. Tis a pity. Like I would trust HMV/Virgin for games anyway! Gamestation is about the only major chain you can trust.. Game is a ripoff.

Oh yes, erm, the thread. There was a big poster behind the till advertising the new singles album, and they stock plenty of 12"s.. ach. And I got all 3 WFTSC 7"s no problem..

Just got back from HMV Trafford Centre, they had a stack of all three releases, but they're all tucked away where you'll never notice them.To give them their due,at least they, and the Manchester City centre shop do stock vinyl.Copius amounts of it,with a player to listen to it on. But please, put them on a rack on the wall...where they can be seen!!

The HMV in Leeds used to have one of the big vinyl section , then they cut it right down, as they did in the glasgow one too.

HMV.co.uk are usually not too bad for pre ordering stuff though i'll stick up for them there

If you lived on this side of the pond, you wouldn't able to find vinyl anywhere, except at used record stores. Vinyl isn't sold in the US anymore and you rarely see audio cassettes and VHS sold anymore.

I went to HMV in Guildford. Took 5 minutes to find the Vinyl as the shop has been changed round (again). They they were all sitting nicely together. The guy behind the counter even went and changed my disc 3 with one out back cos the sleeve was slightly bent.

Got mine last night in HMV Liverpool but there was only three Temptation 7" left but plenty of the others. This seems to be the most popular one.

The IB 2 disc is well worth getting,i was a bit pissed at the price but its got a decent book and disc two is just as good as disc one. First time i`d heard his Michael Jackson covers-one suprisingly good, the other typical b.side stuff.

The book has quotes from other musicians, including one by Barney saying how much he likes 'Golden Gaze'.
