Greetings cognoscenti!

To celebrate the life and work of John Peel, the BBC are holding "Peel Day" on Thursday 13th October. Thousands of gigs will be taking place up and down the country, starting with New Order and The Fall playing the night before at the QEH.

DIGITAL are pleased to announce that we will be paying our own respects to Peelie on Thursday 13th, with a gig at The Good Ship in Kilburn, North London's newest indie venue.

We will be joined on this occasion by good friends of ours, an up-and-coming band called HEDORAH from Reading. There may also be another special guest appearing.

Full details will be available on our website http://www.digital-jdno.co.uk shortly.

Tickets will be on sale from this weekend, priced £4 in advance or £5 on the door.

See you there!

But we're not doing Novelty if Rocket Mick doesn't turn up.

Sadly Rocket can't make it, I am gutted, hope to say hello at the QEH

I just wondering if you guys heard about the band from brooklyn-JAH Division? They do jd covers to dub and reggae. Their actually not too good and i'd bet you guys are better.

I have heard them, and to me it is always interesting to hear songs we know well done in a different style, particularly one that is so different to how the songs were conceived. Fair play to them for being different.

We tend to do fairly straight down the line versions when we play live, as the idea is to attempt to recreate the sound of Joy Division live. When we've recorded stuff such as Love Vigilantes, we've been a bit more creative and interpretative. If there is to be another Community contest, I'm sure we will do something a bit different from the norm.

Have we guys got some surprises in store for the paying public at this one, or what?! Last night's rehearsal saw quite a few new songs get added to the set, which will make their Digital debuts on the 13th.

Hope to see a considerable Viking contingent at this one. First set starts at 8.30.

You never know, there is a strong possibility that all the songs NO played last night will be played again tonight!

We were talking about this last night. If anyone in Holland/Belgium knows of a promoter who would be interested in putting us on, we will be over!

Thanks to those who came along - one or two technical problems meant that we went on late and only did the one set after all, which was hurriedly rewritten from the ones we had been rehearsing. Anyway, the set was something like this.....

No Love Lost She's Lost Control Ceremony (bass amp blew up) Sister Ray (me solo while amp was repaired) Transmission Atmosphere Your Silent Face LWTUA Isolation Sunrise Procession Insight Warsaw Interzone Shadowplay Day Of The Lords Temptation

Looks like you did the gig in a newly painted room - it's all white! The drummer should get his eyes looked at. And where's the JD clothing? You can't be a JD tribute band in t-shirts! Must buy shirts with collars! Barney needs a tie too.

That was the first time I hadn't worn the uniform - check photos on our website! The shirt was packed and ready to put on, but unfortunately the bag it was in was taken back out to the van before the start of the set (things were a bit chaotic as everything was running well late, the support band didn't even turn up until an hour after the soundcheck was due to finish, and then proceeded to exceed their slot by ten mins, oh well). As a result, the shirt didn't make the show.

Yes it was a newly painted room, a pit beneath a bar. No lighting to speak of either. Very disappointed to be honest with the whole thing, we might as well have not bothered, such was the paltry attendance (but many thanks to those that either did make it or apologised in advance).

Sounds like a nightmare! I would like to see you lot play, but I had a band rehearsal myself last night. When's the next one in London? I will get in touch with Marco and see if we can raise a small posse - he said he was up for a Digital gig experience.

It's fixed now, I'll burn it over the weekend and get it in the post. Fortunately there is no record of this latest performance besides the few photos taken during Your Silent Face.

We may be back in action before the new year, but opportunities are fairly limited at the moment. Hopeful of a Christmas gig!
