alright, i'm a lazy fart and don't like to search all the different threads to get an answer, but could someone help me out with the WFTSC CD-Single coming out please?! at the beginning there was a 2-track-CD, now i (pre-)ordered the 6-track CD-Single on Amazon.de, which is supposed to be an UK-import! now, are the mixes here included which should also be on the 2-track one? And is the 6-track one an UK-only release and the 2-track one an US-only or what? No german release? No sign of it on neworder.de or wea.de, only the 2 (!) DVD's of "Collection" and "Story" ... and "Singles" of course. So? Thanx in advance for sharing ideas! Cheers :beer3:
WFTSC-Single-CD confusion, help me out please!

Who knows for sure?
Since the only one listed at Amazon UK is the 6-track one, I'm assuming that is all there will be, and that the 2-track is cancelled.
Nobody is going to know for sure until we pop into our record shops on Monday.
Wouldn't it be fun if the Blue Monday 7" promo version appeared?![]()
I've been told 2 tracks by Warner themselves... so the Amazon one was a surprise.
I do hope 6 tracks though... would stop me from ordering the Japanese version of "Singles" ;)
Dont know about outside of the UK,but here your only allowed 3 formats for a release to be eligible for the charts-and they used all three as 7" singles. So technically a CD next week is a re-release (it`ll have a different cat no.) So it might not count towards sales either.
Not sure about the rules myself but I'm fairly sure a 6 track CD single would be chart ineligible anyway (so not likely to happen).
As for the three formats rule...well the 7" single could be said to be deleted in the first week, so a further release in a following week is entirely possible.
been looking up the rules and they are thus:
"2 track" CD - 10 mins and no more than 2 audio tracks, no multimedia content.
"Maxi" CD - 20 mins and no more than three tracks plus remixes of those tracks.
I figure this is careful scheduling by the record company. Regardless of whether they release 1 or 2 CD singles next week, and how many tracks are featured, none of the sales will apply. I reckon the label realise that NO material normally goes into the chart somewhere about the 10-20 mark, then rapidly disappears within a week or two. The sales of the 3x7" of WFTSC mean it'll get a chart placing somewhere from 20-40, then drop out the following week. There will be naff all promotion for any CD singles next week (too busy promoting the new singles collection), and whatever CDs of WFTSC come out won't be eligable anyway.
It's just a way of shutting us fans up, one week after the 7"s come out and bomb out the chart. They're still fleecing us anyway, by forcing us to buy the Japanese copy of 'The Singles' to get the (presumably) full-length, digital versions of what is only on vinyl in the UK.

I think predicting a chart placement of 20 to 40 for the vinyls is wildly optimistic.
Tellingly, both Amazon and HMV list the cat. no. of the WFTSC CD single as NUOCD15... So chances are this will only be one release. I'd wager Amazon have got the tracklisting wrong. Hope not, though, as it'd be great to get these remixes on CD (but I've a feeling it'll be the Jap 'Singles' for that).

Not sure- Graham Coxon had a Top 40 "hit" last year with a 7" only release (the first time that had happened for some years, admittedly). You only have to sell 4 and a bit records now to get in the UK top 40.
No. 1 with a bullet, I reckon.

It had the same catalog number on Sirencd 2 months ago, including a DVD single.
So the number, beside being predictable, means nothing.

Amazon UK now shows only a 2-track.
