New Order-TAKE 2 (GET READY/LOW-LIFE) Aussie release

Coming from Warner Music Australia on Nov 4. Features both CD's packaged in a slipcase. I'll upload image when available.

These 2-fers are usually limited and typically only available during xmas season.

Another item to add to the collection.

Interesting news, thanks for the heads up - this sort of repackaging is very common here (especially around christmas time), and any change to already-issed copies is extremely unlikely - in fact, I bought a similar double CD/single slipcase of some Pogues stuff, and "Hell's Ditch" is faulty, so not a discernible improvement!

At first I thought this post was about the repackaged LowLife I have been seeing in Aus shops, with the GR red stripe under the tracing paper - anyone know the story on this? Import? Attempt by Warner to reignite interest in NO back catalogue after GR?

Curiosity got the better of me when I saw this mysterious red stripe Low-life and I picked one up. It's just the standard release with a collection insert inside, nowt too exciting really.

Are you sure its just not the normal versions that have different sleeves (currently available in hmv?)

Those red stripe inserts can be found on all reissued-but-not-remastered NO CDs sold around the time of GET READY. I think we noticed them more in the LOWLIFE CD because of the tracing paper cover. I bought all of these pretty-useless re-issues ( again......just becoz theses have different cat. nos.. ) and all of them have that 4 page red stripe insert.... Nice piece - photos of NO covers but incomplete though. Yea, I think it was in those NO CDs just to generate interest again.

Hi there Tanlines I thought as much about the red-striped reissues; a four page insert is probably not enough incentive for me to to purchase the entire back catalogue all over again though! I'll keep my eyes open for the 2fer repackaging mentioned in the original post. CTB

Has anyone ordered anything from HMV UK recently?

I've just put together a little order but have found that there's no longer an option to have all the items bundled together to save on shipping?

Instead, they only offer to send them all individually, meaning my final shipping bill to Aus comes to over $50. Absolute lunacy and simply not a viable proposition for a $35 order.

Have they lost the freakin' plot or is this just a glitch?

If this is a new policy, they've lost me as a customer forever. And I'd imagine several thousand others.

Hi Dephy... Thanks for the warning. I was intending to order stuffs from hmv.uk but didnt get around doing it....usual excuses-too busy..... but now I guess you've totally put me off. The last time I saw - there were lotsa ITEM 2-DVD set at Red Eye Records, Sydney for $49.95 each but I was still being a tight-arse and willing to wait. I think the cheapest option is dvdpacific.com...thanks to the Aussie NOOL who pass the tip on. I think when Red Eye Records get the WFTSC 7"s - they'll be priced at AUD$9.95 each....but I've chosen the lazy option - bought them from Ebay last week. The last time I ordered something from hmv.uk was that RETRO box set - good price too!! ..thanks again to a NOOL here!

I'm mightily peeved with HMV as well...also took the option of getting 2 lots of the 7"'s off Ebay..total for each lot after postage about $30.

Well, 2 weeks ago I ordered it - AU$72.00 for Item (2x DVD, inclusive of shipping and 'exclusive') via HMV UK. All this post-release ire on HMV is worrying me a fraction, as is the slightly-too-steep price. DC, I empathise with you on the refusal to bundle purchases in a single parcel for airmail - in anyone's language, that is a load of cock. Are they aiming for 100% customer dissatisfaction or what?

Then again, you can bet the local "Collection" DVD will retail for over $30.00 if/when it gets a release (which is still not confirmed, btw!), ditto for NOStory should it ever get a local release - so it's not too bad, I guess. Solitude's advice for DVDPacific or whatever came a few hours too late for me, but I urge other Aus NOOLers to check that it is the 2xDVD bundle - if so, get it there! CTB

Thanks for the feedback peeps, I've dropped them some mail so we'll see how they respond.

Over the years, I've ordered bucketloads of gear from HMV UK and always found them to be efficient and their shipping rates reasonable. But if they're only shipping items individually from now on, frankly they can go get f*cked. Especially when I can order stuff from CD Wow and have it shipped here for ZERO SHIPPING. Did you hear that HMV? ZERO!

Anyhow, I won't trash them further until I get a response.

As for the Item 2xDVD, sites like the one recommended by Solly and Deep Discount DVD are much better bets than HMV anyhow. Very cheap.
