The set list, radical & path breaking, was as follows:

Temptation LWTUA Blue Monday

Ok, I did say a review as well.

This gig was staged at the Olympic Park in a huge stadium that I guess would have been a major venue for the 2000 Olympics. Not sure if it was the main Athletics arena, any Aussies know?

A blisteringly hot day, that saw me overdo the ray-catching on Bondi Beach & I will surely pay for that tomorrow.

The gig was mobbed & we took in a few cans of VB before making our way round the security fences to get a space front & centre for The Order.

Met up with DepthCharge (good spot DC, let you off the Morecambe & Wise gag now) & his mate, Adam Read who once again recorded the show & a few other Oz NO fans who generally were well up for it. The crowd here gave a good account of themselves, loads more lively than the dormant Gold Coast & Hordern Pavillion gigs.

Barney was well into it as well, shouting randomnly through Close Range & letting one huge screech out during the middle of Atmosphere for some reason. Completely f@cked up the lyrics to Love Vig - how many times has he sung this? - & Hooky played multiple bum notes in BM. Temptation & LWTUA got a great reaction as usual.

Didn't hang around for Prodigy & looking forward to Melbourne with renewed optimism.

See you in Perth DC :D

Agree with the above - much better show than the previous.

I watched the tape I left recording while I was away, Channel V showed 3 songs from the Gold Coast show and an interview with Peter, Steve and Barny all in Very good moods. I think they will show the whole show in a few weeks.

Cheers for the info Johnny - are you not getting a bit fed up with the sets yet? How about ye's make a big banner saying "AGE OF CONSENT - YA BASTARDS";) Mind you with all the sun and beer - you probably don't mind too much - you lucky, lucky Bast:lol:

That ain't such a bad idea, may raise a laugh from Hooky anyway !

If anyone hears of Channel V showing any of the Brisbane BDO in the future could they please let us know on this forum as I am one of the poor ones without pay TV and never know what is coming up. Cheers

That's not a bad idea Shug. We tried something similar in the States/Canada last year. Bought a Union Jack in Vancouver & wrote Ceremony across it, coupled with drunken shouts for it @ the gigs, how could we fail yer thinking?. Well we did.

Got to the point at one gig where Barney says..'were not playing Ceremony because Ceremony sucks'!

The abuse approach may be the only alternative....;)

Cheers again Johnny;) But if it said Age of Consent - and you stood right in front of Hooky - maybe he'd have a quiet word with the Barnster - after you's travelling all that way - Ye never know - Then again.... Have ye's got Pictures BTW? be interesting to see you's looking like LOBSTERS:spit:

Didn't they always used to play Let's Go in Australia, moreso than anywhere else in the world ? Maybe worth a shout !

Just to add my 2'penneth - much better gig than the Hordern, IMHO. More up for it crowd for the Order which is strange, considering this was a Festival, rather than an NO-only gig.

Supreme moment when Love Vig kicked in and all the lights turned blue; took me breath away! Now, if we could just gig Love Vig AND Ceremony in the SAME GIG!

Good to see Adam R again and to finally meet Depthcharge (accidentally cancelled the last digit of your number on me phone before saving so will drop you a note off-line once the Mrs is around and I can remember her web-based e-mail account. Doh).

And, indeed, someone with Johnny G's skin colouring should not be prancing around like a tart on Bondi Beach in 30+ degree heat for an hour either side of midday.

Oh, and some jovial wag had put LFC in big day-glo lettering next to Hooky's speakers - so perhaps Barney should lay off the MUFC bollocks from now on? Perhaps we'll have a similar head-nod towards Middlesbro' at tomorrow's BDO? Let's hope.

Weather today in M'bourne is 22 degrees and overcast.

I saw a multi-camera shoot at the Gold Coast show, but nothing at the 2 Sydney shows.

I'll just add my two pesos worth and say how great it was to finally meet Jarvis and Giles and how I immediately regretted the couple of cracks I'd made at Al's expense when I saw what a bloody big bastard he is ;)

It's always fun to say these things at a safe 10,000 mile distance!

Seriously, it was excellent meeting up with them and Adam and maybe we'll post a photo sometime soon. Nice gig overall and scored myself a setlist.. Sweet.

See the UK connection out west this weekend.
