Again, it has to be the 80's, Temptation, BM confusion, low life, brotherhood, technique, they haven't had a decade like that since.
I don't think their output now is any worse, only not as prolific or cutting edge.
Without contest, their Prime throughout the '8o's, but I truly can't dissociate it from all of their Joy Division days.
I reckon the 80's 'cos their light shone brightest as they were the innovators back then.
Pretty hard to see any innovation in the music industry nowadays; Not sure if that's a bad thing thou', as all musical styles are colliding into one another.
NO have a special place on the muscial landscape as they will always be hailed as the Grandfathers (and Mother) of dance-rock.
Wonder what would have happenned if Ian was still with us?

Considering the entirety of the back catalogue i'm a little surprised that there are no votes for JD's 70's...
Although i'm not surprised about the 80's; that's mine too, but only just...
80's. In the decade that taste (mostly) forgot, new order, along with a few others (mainly the smiths, but there were others) carried music kicking and screaming through the decade.

Electronic`s debut was released in the 80's? It took me 2 years to find out about it then...
It was released in 1991. But your right about New Order's best work. :)

i was thinking of getting away with it. still, i think of my high school years as 'the eighties' even though i graduated in 1992.
