Is Tony Wilson running warners?

It has occured to me that TW could have some input at Warners, they seem to be fucking everything up in a very Factory style.

I think Pete Tong is the label's A&R only.

Warner's is still in existence, so Tony Wilson must not have that much influence.

Remember kiddies, Fac 51 was never(supposedly) Wilson's idea and it's supposed to be improper to speak ill of the dead. Tony has though via the 24HPP film & novelisation. It dosen't totally absolve him of other money-losing shenanigans via Factory though.

That is quite true and definately one very good reason for Hannett's well-directed venom towards him later on. The other labels have done pretty much nowt except for bringing some of the JD live stuff out of the vaults(The Les Baines Douches/Paradiso gigs combo is worth looking out for; The Preston gig is a bit bizarre due to numerous tech hassles and is a bit forgettable). The offices were a massive ego-stroking exercise for both Wilson and Erasmus. Dry...bit of an NO indulgence that Wilson was too gutless to deny...keeping faith with the Happy Mondays, setting up a classical music division, buying old warehouses to convert into flats....those can definately be nails in Factory's coffin, along with the Hacienda, but are things that he (Tony)can't fob off to other people who now lack breath in thier bodies to defend themselves against.

And I'm very thankful that you did, along with other stuff you've given me. There's more stuff on it's way from me in the not-to-distant future as well. I'll let you know when it gets here and/or convert it over to a more convenient format than I have it in at the moment.
