Further to the previous question about spouses, what do your kids think of NO?

I've recently introduced my 2 daughters (aged 3 and 18 months) to New Order and they're becoming big fans.

The 3 year old loves 'Turn' and has to have it played everyday, whereas her younger sister is a big fan of 'Blue Monday' - she likes to stamp her feet to the beat!

Since buying 'Item' earlier this week, I've introduced them to some of the videos. Their current favourite is Blue Monday '88, probably becasue of the plastic dolls and frogs.

Incidentally, my wife first started showing signs of going into labour while we were watching '24 Hour Party People' at the cinema, which may explain why my 3 year old daughter is such a big fan.

My seven year old loves them.

Recently, my 1.5 years old boy went to my Cd collection and selected the limited edition of Republic (probably because of the soft orange case). I decided to play it and he immediately started to dance on Regret.

My wife found it hard to admit although she witnessed the scene... :evil4:

Just picked up on this...here is a simple classic comment from a 15 year old.

Mum (CD on in background of NO)'just think in 3 days time I'll be at the RFH waiting to see NO and sing along'

Daughter 'whatever'

Mum 'you MUST like this one?'(WFTSC)

Daughter 'NO'

Mum 'just a bit maybe?'

Daughter 'NO; Westlife are doin' a new song.....(this bit was undecipherable)

Mum 'whatever'

The soft orange Republic case has been a fave since crawling started. My 3 year old calls Joy Division "dinosaur music" when I play it in the car - not sure if he is being insightful or just think the low tones and underlying roar is slightly brontosaurusy...

The 7 month old looks at me with a vacant stare when I play NO - reminds me a bit of Gillian in the Perfect Kiss video!

They will grow to love or will not grow.....

:violent: :baby:

Actually, both my baby sisters like New Order - Helen (who's now 28) and Sally (24) both own NO stuff. Proud to say that at 14 years old, I also got a good telling off for introducing little Helen to 'Crass' - 'Christ The Album' I believe - doesn't go down well in an Irish Catholic household...

my son can handle the band...

of course, me and his mum did our first new order gigs together back in 89, so I guess he really doesn't stand a chance of not liking them, now does he?

of course...what he really hates is his Aunts favorite band...Erasure!!!

They're now really into the True Faith video. They copy it by slapping me on the face and bouncing up and down on the sofas.

My 6 year old daughter has her own copies of the Get Ready and WFTSC CDs. She wanted me to buy her a NO shirt when I went to the Chicago show, but they didn't have any in her size so I bought her that pin set. She handed me back the pins after I gave them to her and said "I wanted a NO shirt Daddy!" Oh well...

NO music hasnt really had any effect on my 5 year old step daughter but she knows alot of the words to Green days current album. So she could turn out to be a rock chick.:thumb:
