Heard NO songs used on TV ads etc?

They used the music bit of 60 Miles an Hour as a promo tune for Channel 10 Sports Tonight for ages in Sydney (they might still use it - not sure). It's so cool though and sounds great. But Slow Jam was used for a car commercial - I don't remember who - and while the New Order pride kicked in upon hearing it, like any tune used for a commercial I think of that stupid car now when I hear those words "I can't get enough of this".

Anyone seen the current Alliance & Leicester TV ad - the one set in a Hairdressing Salon? The music sounds a lot like a new track from our favourite band - particularly when the bass comes in. It's probably just a session band playing in the style of New Order - but you never know!!

Was it an Australian ad for the Ford Focus? I remember seeing it.

Yeah, it was a Ford one for thier XR6 Falcon. Warner Oz and Ford were also toying with the idea of giving a 1-track CD

single to every XR6 customer. They even assigned it a Warner serial number. None were ever produced though(to the best of my knowledge). BTW, there are now Warner 2-track promos for the Planet Funk Remixes of WFTSC appearing on Ebay.

In an article in The Times today about how The Doors have missed out on $20M because John Densmore won't allow their old songs to be used in adverts, we are reminded how NO rewrote Blue Monday for a Sunkist advert. Barney apparently sung the reworked lyrics while looking at a piece of card with '£100,000' written on it!

Pump panel remix of confusion was used a bit during Bathurst today (a big, big motor race for those OS) NO seems to be pretty big in televised motor sport.

An appropriate song to play considering the panel damage being inflicted on driver's cars by thier encounters with concrete walls, tyre barriers or each other's vehicles coming together. I remember hearing "Shellshock" being used by Seven Motorsport during various car races in the 80's. As has also been said before,New Order's/Monaco's songs have also been used on Sports Tonight and The Footy Show. Myself & Ron Kirsch have also noticed there's a new Jack Daniels double party-songs CD out which contains Blue Monday being advertised on telly just recently.

Blue Monday was on a few beer commercials here in Canada a while back.

I was also watching some VH1 thing on Michael Jackson and they played Crystal a few times.

I also believe there is a commercial out where some lady is singing the chorus to Bizarre Love Triangle, probably a car commercial.

Slow Jam was used as the music for a promo for the USA Network here in the states, also featuring the "I can't get enough of this" line.
