It'd better be good and go top 5 after all this waiting!

I'd rather not think Blue Monday 2002....after 95 I'm still recovering;) Only kidding of course - Cheers fer the news Nico:nod: let's expect a release around June / July:lol:

There's a lot of folks riding on the strength of this one, and they aren't only NewOrder fans! A few disenchanted Chems fans out there now.

Call me a cynic but you can disregard whatever record execs tell you about their product- they talk everything up.

Let's funkin hope it's a cracker!!! If it even touches Out of Control I'll be ecstatic..

Who are the likely candidates for promo copies? ;)

Allen J has been trying to get hold of HTS from a lad he knows whos had it for a good few months...but no joy. He phones Allen up when he's lagered & says he'll put it in the post the next morning but then nothing.

If it's gonna promote 24hr pp then hopefully it will stick to schedule....but then you never do know..

I know one person who has a demo, but still... don't want to give it away :D

As for a promo, it's so hard to join the labels and have them do something (especially since I'm not located in Europe and it's a European release so far), that I doubt I will have, ON TIME, a promo...

I'll maybe have it, but I'll have to get finally my 60 MPH promo before :)

Is "24 Hour party People" gonna see a Stateside release? It's doubtful any of the uber-big theater chains would carry it, but if it would at least come out here, it could then be on video by summertime. :D

i'm sure 24 hour party people will be released in north america...cuz of the notion that if you wanna be called a success, you'd better do well in america.

thats what we all need to hear Blue Monday AGAIN!! :smoker:

releasing blue monday again? Do they want to be the next Village People with all these re-releases?

It shits me cos it gives the impression that their some washed up old codgers who are using a 20 year old song as an excuse to hang around.

While I dont think Get Ready is their best album by any means its still pretty darn good, so why cant they just release stuff of what they have done now.

What next True Faith 2003?

I think you guys missed the point. They are NOT rereleasing Blue Monday. The collabortion btw the Chems and Neworder was called a "Blue Monday 2002" because of the quality of the tune (implying future classic).

on a related misunderstood note, did anyone hear the JJJ interviewer question the "here comes love...money/honey" lyric? I thought it was funny at first then I was annoyed that he couldn't figure it out on his own. it's certainly not the worst lyric on the album. if you're going to call someone on shit lyrics, you got to be able to support your claim. Sounds like the band are enjoying the Aussie tour most of all.

Here To Stay should be floating about in a couple weeks. Surely someone will put it on Audiogalaxy etc...

ok im a fuck i readily admit jumping the gun.

A blue monday type song is fine by me, but let them be wearned on crappy re-releases!!!

Maybe his canned mate is stringing him along.. Any copy that's been circulating for a few months must be pretty raw. Hooky said last week that they'd only finished it in December. The delay was with the Chems polishing off Come With Us.

Do we know whether HTS is the song originally referred to as Dream On in the early recording sessions?

I think that was Close Range

Dream On = Close Range (as said by the backing vocals in the song)...

As for Here To Stay, the news' been confirmed by the Hookmeister himself in the BDO chat, so this is now pretty official....

I'm curious to know if that means no more Get Ready single...!

There's nothing left on Get Ready that would be worth releasing as a single. Mind you, that didn't stop them with 60mph did it ? Singles are the Devil's Tapioca..... :(

I repeat that Hooky is keen on Run Wild as a single -straight from the horse's mouth.

Turn My Way is a single that would shift units in places like Australia and the US. Corgan has a higher profile and those markets are more receptive to that brand of guitar rock. Love to see it happen.

He was taking the piss !!!

Yeah make it 5 singles off the album Run Wild to follow up the killer double a-side Slow Jam & Rock The Shack.

If I was in charge, I would release Turn My Way or Primitive Notion.

eh? are you serious? so only crystal was worth releasing as a single? purlease!

I wasn't being entirely serious, no :)

thank god for that!

though the "entirely" bit is a little worrying still....

"Nothing left" as in "they've released the obvious ones, and I can't see the need for any more singles from Get Ready". It's not as if the remixes are consistently good either !

But aren't we overdue for a re-release of Blue Monday? There was '83, '88, '95, and just in time for the 20 years anniversary Blue Monday '03!! Actually, it's two years overdue now by the count.

Here's to Here to Stay coming out in the States by August! If it all. :nonono:

Funnily enough "Dream On" was also the title of a track on the Chemicals LAST album "Surrender".

Quite right too - I really HATE it when bands have to milk their albums dry for singles. New Order never used to take singles from albums or realease countless "follow-ups" (what a rank record biz term that is) - LowLife was the first album that spawned more than one single. Who needs singles anymore? I mean, Really? What purpose do they serve other than try to "promote" the parent album?

If New Order's Get Ready has sold as much as it apparently has now (just past Gold - no more) then all their fans have it now surely? Any further singles or stupid crap remix packages taken from it are hardly going to boost the album's sales any further are they? Even at Christmas - Get Ready never reported any belated upsurge in its sales to push it back into the lower reaches of the "Hot 100" album chart did it?

So that's my argument why NO should just concentrate on getting some new stuff out from now on - the Chems thingie is a good start. It's time to stop looking back and fucking move on with the times. I can't see any other songs on GR that will pass muster as single fodder anyway - Close Range should've been one instead of 60mph but that's about it really. Surely the band have got other new songs left over from their reported 7- or 8- song backlog left over from the Get Ready sessions. How about it chaps? Stop fleecing us and get them new songs out you bastards - or face your inexorable decline.....
