Good stuff. A bit amazed we have footage of this at all.
Love that GOD HAS A DJ was scrawled on the speakers, and to see a mosh pit in the QE Hall, even with all the bald spots! (dunnae worry, I'm developing one too)
Man, Sarge has almost as much gold chains as Mr. T did in his heydey.

You could have walked in with a professional film crew!
Didn't see anyone have their ticket checked, let alone their bag.
Gutted I didn't bring my proper camera :\ohwell:
cheers, nic!
what a treat, it sounded great--a powerful performance, and the band looked like they were having the time of their lives. as for the gold necklaces: you're right H.O., BA baracus rides again!
My God, they did it! Top form!
They've always seemed to respect the Joy Division songs-better performances than their own tunes. They should just reinvent the set list-toss True Faith and BLT-bring back other tunes. It's like they liberated themselves.
They really should take a cue from the Pixies, a band who, without a new album, have managed to pack in the hits and some rarities during their recent tours. New Order sounded as powerful as Mission of Burma or Sonic Youth with that one performance of 'Warsaw'. Excellent.
Holy Shit! That was fantastic. You can clearly see Jarvo pogoing on Hooky's side during the opening. Must have been mental when it started. New Faith?

Hooky must feel he's been doing the same gig for the last 12 years... always the same people in front of him everywhere ![]()
damn good. alright visual quality when zoomed in, warsaw all the way. yo. i wanted to see more of stephan tho
I only wish they got my favorite part right:
"I can still hear the footsteps, (Ian/Barney and Hooky) I CAN SEE ONLY WALLS"
Historic !!! A marvellous rendition. And I can't thank you enough NIC., 'cos I wasn't free to go to attend this memorable gig, so a big thank you. Didier Ravéane
can't wait to see this, unfortunately the old banger at work won't play it so I'll have to wait. any change of the rest being put up as well? even just audio?
What a stunning piece of video!
There was unalloyed wildness in the moshpit from what I could see. I take it it was captured on a mobile? Great quality overall. If someone has the whole set on their mobile and burnt it to DVD it would be a real winner!
Cheers and that's made my day now. Al

Brilliant stuff Nicos - gutted we were too pissed to get down the front now!
Hopefully when Hibster sobers up he will send in some pictures - cos according to DoN he has some fookin crackers.
Don't thank me, thank Will for sending it to me so I can make it available.
The only concern we have would be somebody trying to make money out of it, that's the risk of publishing it.

Not guilty, your honour! I'm slap bang in front of Barney. All us big bald geezers look the same! That appears to be (Mad) Darren right in front of Hooky. You can also see John McVittie's naked(!) shoulders and ATR right beside him.
Star of the show seems to be Mr Wolfram with his arms flailing around the 30second mark!!!
Absolutely amazing video. Cheers Will, you're a star! ![]()
3-1-G!
Just watched this through again. Old Monkey slap bang in front of Hooky's bass at approx 1min30secs swapping pleasantries with his drummer, John!
So, when was 'Warsaw' (incorrectly just called "3 1 G" by Edith Bowman) last performed live?? Must be years, if not decades???

Don't know but have only 3 tracks been played from LAST night? 3 1 G indeed.:D
Yeah, 'Transmission' (naturally), 'Atmosphere', and 'Warsaw'.
Absolute quality to hear 'Warsaw' on the radio - never heard it on air anywhere in my time!

31G was the term used for the German War Criminals. 350125 was Rudolph Hess' number. There was a massive discussion about this on Joy Division Central ages back.
Massive, massive cheers for that, really put a smile on my face, just trying to imagine what it was like in the pit when they played that one. ![]()
awesome clip!!! everything was great about it. loved the unsteady camerawork and rough audio. i have to say this is my favorite NO performance on film/video. ![]()

Thanks for that. Ian Curtis really did have an unheathy obsession for Nazi history then.

Near as dammit. 31G was the "front number" which signified that Hess had been a European POW. 350125 was his individual prisoner number.

The first two digits actually designate the theater of operations and the third one designates the country's Army the PoW served.
Rudolf Hess PoW number was 31G-350125: 31 = US Army Forces in the European Theater of Operations G = Germany 350125 = Personal number of the PoW
You can find more info about PoW numbers on the scanned documents here and here.
I'm sorry for being so anal. ![]()

Habituellement, le lien est down lors du calcul de statistiques sur le serveur où le tout est hébergé, et ce n'est pas très long.

Holy shit, Old Monkey! I never knew that. I reckon, at a guess, that it was last performed live at preston 1980? Bet I'm the only NOOLer was there the last two times it was played!

Your eyes are closed? ;)
Warsaw isn't really a surprise as the band did rehearse it this summer (at least in Chicago)
Shadowplay IS the big surprise...
I wrote a post about 12 months ago joking how New Order were going to do this
AND THEY DID
wouldnt surprise me if they did a tour more people would turn up thats for sure
excellent stuff
and now for our encore louie louie
Oh, that would be even better, a Louie Louie like the one on 24 Hour Party People, I'd go totally crazy for that...
But this video is already fookin amazing...
"God has a DJ", the moshpit, what an audience, what a performance...
My biggest thanks for this precious piece of history!
