Has anyone seen this? I know there was one on Ebay that just ended a couple of days ago. It has 2 mixes on it.
I guess Warner decided to get these out since the Planet Funk remix was originally going to be on the alleged 12" release of WFTSC.

Yeah, I was the bidder who won the second promo CDR you speak of, Nick King managed to nab the first one. My figuring is these mixes are obviously slightly rarer than the ones currently circulating on the other promo CDRs (EGG Cicada, Temptation Secret Machines etc.) as they were never released on any public format.
Who knows how many more there will be..
Yup, I got the first one - dunno how many there are out there (as always with CDR's)...
The mixes get better with repeated listens, but I wouldn't say they're essential... :)

True - I should really try and get past the very long introduction to the mix! :D
I'll give it another listen this evening! ![]()

I didn't care for Planet Funk's effort that much either at first but the Remix has grown on me somewhat. As Nick says it could benefit from a shortened intro. The dub's still not that great though.
Wonder if we'll ever see the Colder mixes of WFTSC or if they were ever even completed?

That'll probably be the next promo CDR to appear! ![]()
Im getting a bit sick of this 20 different CD promos of remixes shite. Warners can fuck right off if they think they can throw a bag of sand at some half arsed DJ and then im gonna run round like a mug lookin for his CD-r on eBay.

Bit harsh but on this occasion I agree. The quality of these recent WFTSC promotional CDRs have been bloody awful. Putting aside the music quality the actual mastering seems faulty on just about all the CDRs so far with tracks not properly normalised (quiet), bad skipping (a second long silence halfway through a BLT edit), long intros of silence before the track begins etc. etc.
Whoever's in charge of making up these promos at London/Warners is doing a piss poor job
Sack em and get in somebody who knows what they're doing with audio.
Some people really have to understand something.
Those CDR promos aren't meant to be sold... any promo is supposed to be sold either.
Even promos with artwork.
Although those with artwork should be clean and correct, but PLEASE, don't go complain about the in-house CDr promos.... they were never meant to be distributed at all!!

Oh come on Nic ;) We all know they're not meant for public consumption but they always make it onto the public market somehow (ebay!), and become for public consumption. Thanks to ebay even casual fans can get an in-house CDR copy, not just hardcore collectors. What Warners should do is release New Order's singles on CD unlike the recent one and people wouldn't be clambering after these ones so much and losing a wad of cash in the process. Anybody with half a brain at Warners knew that they would probably make more money out of Promo CDRs than the actual seven inches
most fans will prefer the convenience of popping a disc into a player than mounting, cleaning and playing three seven inches on a turntable.
You've got to admit the obvious skips on the WFTSC CDRs are pretty shocking for a record label, the BLT mix disappears halfway in on one of them!
In house or not, previous promos have been of a much higher standard than these recent ones.
And yes we can bloody complain :D but I don't expect Warners to do anything about it.

Heard this mix on Pete Tong at the weekend. Its a really good version of the song and if they're not going to release it, Warners could at least considering making it available to download like they did with the Pete Heller "Jetstream" mixes.
I'd love to listen to those ones! If someone can send to me then I would be very grateful robertoaf@gmail.com Thank you very much!
