Why is there a delay?
Why is there a delay when it was declared that, once the live engagements had been fulfilled by the end of July, they'd return to the studio in order to complete the final two unfinished tracks for the new album.
If we can now safely assume those tracks are in the can, why would a spring 2006 be out of the question? Seeing as London now have a clear six months - ample time surely? - to organise the media and production schedules for it, why should we believe it is delayed?
If anyone has some up-to-date info on the new album, please post it here and if anyone from London Recs or the band's management or PR people are reading this, what gives?

I don't remember the details like that. AFAIK they had 6-7 tracks left over - fully finished. That means they have to come up with 4-5 new tracks, from scratch. That could take a while!

Maybe some of the artists (who provided tracks for Community Album) could speed up the release of the NO new album by doing the musical arrangements!

If worse comes to the worst they could release x3 EPs instead, or just release them digitally...
I hate to say this, but New Order needs to TOUR like a mofo.
If Kraftwerk can get off their duffs and do a 80-date tour then there is NO EXCUSE for New Order, man. They could sell-out plenty of shows and make up for any lost wages, etc.
My favorite band and I have never seen them LIVE.

The band have not yet returned to the studio, to record the remaining tracks.

So my question with that statistic is...will time erase that? E.G. Will they eventually sell enough copies to break even since most of the costs are already sunk? Also, with reissues/best of's etc...wont they make money on it over time...it becomes like an annuity right? Plus over time as they license the music for ads etc or they get played during tv broadcasts etc...the record company should make money from that as well.
Just thought of something...no wonder we hear NO on CNN...its a TimeWarner company :)
My guess is that since most of the new songs already constitute a sunk cost...recording/producing the next album should be relatively inexpensive. Maybe this time Warner's will get it right and not try to target Pop stations but instead go after the "NO as legends" angle.
Finally...when was the last time a record company actually admitted to making money on any album/artist...if you believed the record companies almost noone ever makes them any money :D
Well if they have 7-8 tracks complete then why not release that as a mini-album instead? I mean, they've already started experimenting with different formats as we have already seen with the 3x7" singles, so a short appendix-release to WFTSC in the form of a mini-album surely isn't such a bad thing .... or is it?
Low life has 8 tracks and so did PC & L and they were both classics.
Who says you need more than that for an LP.
Oh wait I know "WARNER" because an 8 track album won't sell at $9.99 right??
