Obviously Peter did backing vocals on some songs, but did Barney ever put down any vocals for any of the JD tracks? Or possibly at any of their gigs?
Im just interested to find out if he had any prior experience prior to NO.

point of order: Hooky is actually the lead vocal on interzone :)
On a more helpful note, Barney was terrified of singing when the time came(i think Ketamine may have been involved in the early days :) ) so it's unlikely he stepped up ever during JD days, doubly so since the remaining 3 members were all better singers.

Hooky only sang it live - both vocal tracks on the record are Ian.
Bernard did backing vocals on Transmission (see the HATYM video), and was definitely miked up at a lot of earlier gigs even if he didn't go the whole hog and sing. You don't for one minute think he sauntered across the tiny Electric Circus stage to steal Ian's mike for the Rudolf Hess comment, do you?

There's also photographic evidence that Bernard was miked in the Warsaw days.
Barney looks so embarrassed in the HATYM video. He starts singing "dance... to the radio" and in the end gives up halfway through 
I agree he was only miked. However I beleive, Tim correct if i am wrong, that it was possibly persons outside off the band that sang more than Ian actually did. I think this happened at a few later gigs when ACR frontman Simon Topping sang after Ian had had a seizure?

Was that the notorious Bury gig you're talking about? With singers from ACR and Crispy Ambulance singing all but two or three of the tracks that night...and hence the riot breaking out? I know Hooky sang Interzone on 4 April 1980 after Ian collapsed onstage...so presumably he took over for a song or two when need be. Don't think Simon Topping was involved though, apart from that one gig. Could be wrong.

Larry Cassidy also sang, although I think it was on the jam with Section XXV, Girls Don't Count, and Sister Ray, the last song in the JD set proper. Alan Hempsall sang on a couple of real JD songs, LWTUA was one IIRC. Topping was onstage at some point too.

Good point. I didn't know that he was miked during the Warsaw days, but the photo below confirms it. Great photo too! I'd always assumed that the 'Rudolf Hess' comment was made on a mic that was there for one of the other bands on the night, since quite a few played. I'm not sure of the running order, but I thought maybe the mic was left there from the Buzzcocks or The Drones or someone. Looks like I may have been wrong.
