Rocket Mick has a similar sounding surname to that artist who sprayed paint everywhere (who was also the dad of a South African cricketer with red hair who bowled quite fast)

Strange but Stings latest release sounds like Barney is doing vocals at the beginning. And stranger still Paul Wellers latest has some very Hookylikey basslines. But what do I know?
Ha ha, Barney related to Sting!!! I'm just trying to imagine Barney practicing tantric sex like Sting claims to do! How funny... ![]()

In reference to the surname thing- Sumner was his mother's maiden name and Dicken her married name. I've never really seen anything being mentioned by Bernard about his father and I surmise that he left the scene after Bernard was born or died when Bernard was very young. The Albrecht name was pinched off a piece of equipment Bernard used when he was working at Cosgrove Hall Animation. As for the Sting link....maybe a very tenuous link as far as being related goes..Depends on whether Bernard's mum is an ex-Geordie.
Did some more digging around some old clippings(History In Cuttings Pt.2) and discovered Sumner was Bernard's mum's married name from her first marriage, Dicken from the second. Perhaps as time went on he became more confident sticking to the former for himself.
