My favorite New Order remix of all time?
The one that has the most staying power of all is Blue Monday 95 (Hardfloor Remix) - It was Hardfloor at their artistic peak as well as the climax of all the remix work they had gotten, this was Summer of 1995 and Hardfloor was unstoppable. This mix is truly timeless. You could drop it tonight and it'll create havoc.
The New Order remix that impacted me the most was probably Round & Round (Extended Version) because I started buying New Order records in 1991, at age 13 and when I finally got a hold of this 12", it was 1992 - even still, that 3 year-old record f**king did something to me, It was the smoothest dance / rock fusion I had ever heard. When Hooky's bass solo ends around 2:55 and then those synths come in, that synth sound was widely used at the time (late 80s / early 90s) - It was genius.
My favorite recent New Order remixes include: Someone Like You (Gabriel & Dresden 911 Vocal Mix), True Faith 2001 (Morel's Extra Dub), Crystal (Bedrock Remix), Here To Stay (Thee Glitz Extended Mix), and Jetstream (Pete Heller Mix - Phela Dub).
And I am probably the only guy that likes the B-SIDE to that Pump Panel 2x12":
Confusion (Pump Panel Flotation Mix) is the better of the two remixes, IMHO. :)

Respect the mighty K-Klass. They have a new single out ya know. I used to get made fun of by the high school punks for wearing this K-Klass shirt I had pressed up from a CD cover at a shirt factory.

As for NO, Spooky [Stadium Mix], Bizarre [Shep Pettibone Mix] & Round & Round [12" Version].

NOBabe, you say you hate remixes in general but I bet you like Shep Pettibone's remixes of 'Bizarre Love Triangle' and 'True Faith', right? Those are some of New Order's most famous tracks.
I guess, for me, whenever I've heard New Order in public, it was in the clubs, NOT on the radio so I've always been fond of the remixes.
And who was it that said they didn't like World (Perfecto Mix)?? Wow, I'm surprised. I mix that one into the (Sexy Disco Dub) and it's on fire. I also like K-klass's (World In Action Mix) - in 1993, when I would play it, it had the sickest breakbeat intro, and then it changes to 4/4, that would always trip peoiple out.
And to the guy who likes K-klass's 'Let Me Show You' - dude, that was one of my most FAVORITE tracks of 1994 and definitely my favorite K-klass track. It's such a feelgood club track.

They still DJ, though - they were playing in Glasgow a couple of years ago! :)
My top 5 at the moment are:
Ruined in a day (Reunited in a day a.k.a. K-Klass remix) Regret (Fire Island Mix) Krafty (Morel's Pink Noise Vocal) Blue Monday-95 (Hardfloor Radio edit) Someone Like You (Gabriel + Dresden 911 Vocal Mix)
I generally like those remixes which take Barney's vocal/Hooky's bass and add some new (in tune!) electros in the background. The Reunited in a day remix is always one I keep coming back to and still sounds fresh even 12 years on (has it really been that long??) Similarly Morel took Krafty and made it insanely danceable, some people moaned his mix was run of the mill but I think Krafty's elements suited Morel's dance treatment alot more than the band's effort.
I do like the Hardfloor BM-95 alot but the 8 minute version can stretch on a bit sometimes. I found the Radio Edit from the NCDJ7 promo CD splices all the best bits together nicely. Gabriel + Dresden's SLY is a fine progressive mix with Barney's vocal intact but would benefit from a more succint 6 or 7 minute edit if they ever decide a re-release (or a CD release full stop).
The worst and most cringeworthy NO mixes I've heard are the usual suspects: Blue Monday 1988 12" + Dub, Bizarre Love Triangle (Armand Van Helden mix), Everything's Gone Green (Dave Clarke remix) + The Advent ones, the Sly & Robbie Ruined in a day mixes, and the Lionrock 1963 mixes etc. etc. They're just shit, for want of a better word.
Confusion - Koma and Bones Vocal Mix.
I love remixes which double track Barney's voice. The trouble I had with (The Rest) of... is that Barney's voice is generally left untouched, and it highlights how frail his voice is when ut to this backdrop. Perfect example is the Fire Island remix of Regret.
I don't know why, but I love the whackiness of of the 1963 Lionrock remixes and the Regret Weatherall remixes. And lord help me, but I also love the Armand Van Helden mix of Bizarre Love Triangle. That song always makes me get up and look like a fat 'tard having convulsions. So I only listen to it when I'm alone.

As for K-klass, they need a new album. I have never seen them come to the US for a DJ gig, I wish they would do Winter Music Conference in Miami, then I'd go see 'em. They had a GREAT single 'Talk 2 Me' that went to #3 on the Billboard Club Play chart in the US but their new single 'Dance With Me' is just par for the course. It got up to #2 on the DMC Buzz Chart though.

Yeah it's one of those tracks that you can forget about for a few years, find it again, dust it off and sounds just as exciting as the first time you heard it, the perfect track at 125 bpm to mix in as well, almost too easy to mix.
Kind of similar to NO's Round & Round, doesn't get the credit it deserves, the Blue Monday's, Temptation's, True Faith's get all of the publicity / airplay but R&R just sounds as fresh and exciting as the first time i heard it.
Worst remix would have to be Supermen Lover's 60 MPH, it was just simply WRONG!
On a side note, can anybody see the similarities between Supermen Lovers "Starlight" & NO'S Morning Night & Day?

There's no PSB remix but the production by Stephen Hague/Shep Pettibone make it the most PSB sounding song by New Order.
