OK - I would appreciate your wisdom on these two, cause I'm lost.

a) I have a botleg of Tolworth 12th March 1983 - the opener is BM. (Thanks again for this, shane). Anyhoo, n-o.net doesnt have that song listed at that gig, which doesnt worry me, but I'm wondering who is singing BM. Is is not Barney or Hook, and I dont really have a clue what Steves voice sounds like. Whoever thy are, they're good. Could someone tell me who it is?

b) Recently bought, on cassette tape (unfortunatley) something called frommanchesterwithlove.net, which lists

New Order Blue Monday Richard Hawtin Mix Unrealeased Mix

Does anyone know the origin of this mix? Haven't listened yet but I will when I find a tape player in the cellar somewhere.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me!!!!!!!!

This is a very well documented gig mostly because of the scooter incident. But I cannot find any mention of an alternative single for Blue Monday.

Then again my bootleg of that gig sounds a bit fast. Perhaps yours as well?

When I did Mil's copy of this gig it was from a tape I bought off Ebay and transferred to minidisc(& eventually to CD-r). There can be variations of speed between recording Walkmans and standard hi-fi tape decks which may explain the fastness of the songs. Twist's copy of the gig may originally have been sourced from the same tape(taper) as mine. The Hawtin Mix of Blue Monday appears on a Blue Monday mixes disc which came in a limited 2-cd set with (the rest of)NewOrder- I personally don't think much of it. BTW Mil, received those blank CD-r's today- Cheers!!

not true, there are two different Hawtin remixes. 'ManchesterWithLovenet' has one and 'The Rest Of' has another (far better) mix of his.

Just after Dreams Never End - a stage announcer comes on....

"Sorry to interrupt, but I have a very important announcement here, there's someone that owns a scooter SMG 643Y, could they go and move it cos it's causing an obstruction near one of the trucks, thanks a lot...don't spit at me"

Obviously as he comes to the end of his speech someone gobs on him from the front row

I have the gig playing on me computer now :thumb:

Ok, must be the speed then. Just didn't sound like Barney - thought it might have been a roadoe or something - forgive me!

The Richard Hawtin mix is terrible, really long, boring and bears very little resemblence to BM.

Glad you got the CDs OK, shhergold.
