As some of you know, I received this morning an invitation to give 16 tickets to "New Order fan club members", and it was something to be done very quickly.

I received about 30 requests, but I could only give 16 of those, so I'm sorry for those that didn't make the list, I'm putting you on the "waiting list", that is if they do have some to give away later, but nothing's garanteed.

Due to the huge amount of demands, I decided to give back to people who have contributed to this site, which means people who did donations in one form or another, and due to the limited time I had to produce a list, I might have forgotten a few people and I'm sorry for that.

People wanting to join them are free to buy tickets, they are being sold by Harvey Goldsmith Productions and can be purchased for £250 or £75 each through Quintus Events on 0207 351 7499.

So our lucky winners are:

  1. Tim Jauncey (aka oldMonkey)
  2. Ricardo Fernandes (aka One Brain)
  3. Al Jarvis (2 tickets)
  4. Liam Core (aka Uncle Liam)
  5. Vanessa Airth (aka Ness) + Greg Gould
  6. John Sludden
  7. Hugh Sludden (aka ShugZV)
  8. Mark Rutter (aka Johnny Giles)
  9. Will Learmonth (aka Facsimile)
  10. Nick King (aka Nick)
  11. Donavan Andrew (aka Don)
  12. Paul Cardbury (aka Mickey Way)
  13. David Hibell (aka Hibster) (replacement for Old Blue)

All others are on the waiting list, I'm so sorry I couldn't get you tickets as well. :( but well, I had to do it quickly and obviously, I can't please everyone.

I said in the past ;)

NOOL is self-sufficient from now on and until next March for sure, after that, it simply depends on the amount of people clicking on the Google ads in the left column ;)

Sorry about that btw, I know you were the 2nd one to enter in my inbox, but at the beginning I never expected so many replies.

Think that was the only just way to go about things, Nic. Good call.

Old Blue can't make it, so I have to find replacement.

Hopefully he's the last one I sent, so I can retract this.

What a great bunch of NOOL's you have picked.Hope they have a great time and if there is a BUFFET will you get me some sausage rolls and an egg sarnie. Regards ROCKET MICK:D

And the replacement will be Mr Hibster if he can manage to send me his address ASAP... otherwise I'll have to move on to somebody else who did send me their address in their email !!

Don't know how long I can actually wait before sending this... it's alreadyt 8:42pm in the UK, so I guess it can go up to monday morning.

You are talking to the Queen of Catering; shall the rest of us get together on the night; have some massive feed and get pissed? My place of course! Blow up your own bed sort of thing.........? Just a suggestion! (the bastards!)

PS; I don't think this is a fair cross section of NO fans. More research should have gone into this. For example, chromosomes. Sociology - is a very interesting subject and can be crucial in deciding a cross section within any society. Psychology is another very important factor - now, there is of course cognitive pyschology or sociological psychology; either one can tip one over the edge, but it is a matter of WHY it tips one over the edge. Then nitty gritty we come down to Law. I personally interpet this - on this occasion - to meaning that anyone who has posted more than 200 is being treated as a 'favourite' and that, again, is against British Law. Human Rights. That is my opinion. Won't get me a ticket though, will it? Still, there's nothing like a bit of bullshite to get the fingers typing........

I'm with with you and Rocket Mick...Hall of Fame who needs it?!

Well, you know, eggs - an iffy subject without temperature control; and sausage rolls? oh so 1980's crap wedding receptions!

Nic's priority was to people who've made financial donations to keep this site afloat in the past. That's how I've interpreted this. I don't think it was down to post-count or who he did/didn't like, or whatever. Nic's not even met half of us.

Anyways, as Nic said earlier, it's bizarre that I've ended up getting two tickets off his allocation because Endemol had already promised me two tickets independently of Nic. So it seems it was two for me, then 14 in a lottery. Why did I get two tickets? Because I'd dropped Endemol a line a couple of weeks back after New Order's manager said they were doing a 'tv performance' in November and this one seemed to fit the bill. Didn't even know if New Order were defo on, just mailed and said that if they were, could I have tickets? And they came good, which was nice of 'em.

The lad was taking the piss, right? Have a good 'un, Al - even though I'll see you twice before this, I will be fucking angry if I don't hear chants of "New Or-DAH!!" on the telly....

Why didn't i get one? ;)

Thanks a fucking lot Nic.

I think Johnny Giles deserves one if not me. He at least has donated information regularly from close sources to better this site.

Arseholes. Didn't realise you had to be a fucking donor to get a ticket. Don't seem right. If I had known I would have donated..... Didn't realise that.

Ah well, it'll probably be shite. :bag:

It wasn't a case of having to be a donor to start with. I sent you a text at the same time as I sent everyone else one, and forwarded your wish to be included onto Spotnick, as he will no doubt confirm. As so many people wanted tickets, Spotnick decided that the only fair way to decide who got one was to reward those who had previously made financial contributions to the site by offering them a ticket.

:skeptic:

Some people misinterpret all this or what?

I had to deliver a quick list in something like 7 hours because they are mailing the tickets NOW (don't ask me why)

I didn't expect so many people to want to go, but the idea was to gather 16 person representing the New Order "fan club", that's why they contacted us.

I think everybody that applied fall under that category, but somehow I had to make a quick decision, and I'll live with it, to reward first the people who have contributed to keep this website alive.

For those here since 2002, they all know I was closing the site when the members decided to donate to pay for the hosting, and this has now been going for more than 3 years, so it's just fair to get rewards from time to time.

I'm sorry if anybody felt left out, I wish I had more to give away, and that's all... It's not like I haven't tried, but due to the small delay, I wasn't able to do a decent draw like I would have liked to do.

No one blames you Nic. If you hadn't made the offer, then NO ONE from here would be going!

I did think about applying, but as I'm going to both Manchester & Brixton, Tricia would probably have been cross if I went to yet another New Order 'event'.

Fingers crossed that the (certainly deserving) NOOLers who are going have a good time, don't come across any BSP fans (are BSP being 'inducted'?) and don't yell, 'New Ordaah...New Ordaah' through the rest of the proceedings!

Well done for doing this Nic and congrats to all who are going :thumb:

Yes, flag's a bare minimum, I'd also like anyone shite present to be drowned out with "nu odda". But, I think we'd end up with more than BSP's army of MENSA members after our blood.

Personally I'd really like Hooky to say "I'm takin a year off, I'd like that nice chap steve campbell to have my bass and my job, see you next year"

EDIT...how bitter are some people?!?! Favourites indeed, the usual suspects maybe. And they're the usualy suspects cos they're the 2nd tier of the walls that hold this place up, after nic and wen and all, it's those guys who put up the bucks, and read the entire forums, and whose names you see on every other thread.

I for one will feel very well represented.

Of course, I AM a feckin donor, where's my ticket nic y' c*nt? :):):):)

EDIT EDIT: oh, and wino, no way man, you needn't think you're usurping my position as incoherent gibbering space cadet in residence! :)

Well done, Nic. I think you've been very fair in the way you sorted things. As Steve says, I'll feel very well represented.

Any idea how the tickets work ?? Are the £75 tickets for the great unwashed standing down the front while £250+ gets you sitting on a table at the back with the posh nobs ??

Might be temped if I can join the mob down the front for £75. Or have you got a spare, Al, now you've got 4 ?? :shades: Shug's got my number

And, Happy Birthday, Nic :)

I'm one of the few people who enjoys seeing NO get awards- every time I mention NO getting awards there's always loads of 'they don't need them / who cares' sort of responses.

Anyway, bit upset about not going, but I well understand that Nic is right to give them to the people who built the foundations of NOOL's success!

:thumb:

I just better get a bloody ticket if they receive an outstanding Brit award next year - or to be fair - let's have a drawer of people if that situation arises (presuming they win it)!

Thanks Nic, very much appreciate being selected!

It is a shame that everyone couldn't get a ticket, but I don't want to be accused of being smug, so I shall shut up now. :\ohwell:

Sorry people but I cannot think of a less appropriate way to allocate tickets. I have a mate who has not got a penny to his name but is obsessive about The Fall but can rarely afford to go and see them (even at £15 a ticket). Doesn't mean he is any less dedicated or passionate than some BMW driving city pr*ck who has seen them ten times as much, just that he doesn't have the necessary means.

I'm a left wing old arsehole and I think my political beliefs sit fairly well with New Order. Wealth is not a indicator of dedication, passion, intelligence, or any of the other traits associated with being a New Order fan.

Poor decision.

Just want to clarify that the "BMW driving city pr*ck" comment was in no way personal and is purely based on personal prejudice.

If someone on this forum matches that description then please accept that it wasn't a personal attack.

However, BMWs are still the new Mondeos..............!

Erm, where does wealth come into it? :confused2:

To contribute cash to this site is just a donation - i.e. how much you can afford - some can afford more than others...

Agree with you on the BMW's, though! :thumb: Personally, I can't drive, so I don't fit into that category! :p

Actually Jake, I can't drive, live 60 miles from London, and couldn't have afforded a ticket for the event on top of Brixton and Manchester. But of course, you are welcome to have my ticket. On the 17th.

Oldmonkey,

Your point is completely lost on me? Was there one? If you are suggesting my post was based on me being upset because I didn't get a ticket, then a) I never asked for one, b) I'm in Egypt then so couldn't have gone regardless!

I got 4 more tickets, so our lucky winners of a draw (yes, a DRAW) are:
