I really, really wanted www.claptonisacunt.com to be an actual website. I'm surprised that no-one has thought of it earlier. Very funny indeed. Nice one, Doc :thumb:

totally amazing like. the guitar is so different from the original. I thought it was a different song. totally inspiring and NO must be kicking their feet that they couldnt come up with a version as sublime as this.

Btw, guys...I so happened to have 2 video footage of GALAXIE 500 doing CEREMONY on two separate venues...yeah, its pretty good - I like the 'raw-ish and amateur-ish' way they approached the song. Anybody wants these 2 on DVD, email me...but of course I would prefer if you have something to offer in return - DVD bootlegs?

I had a traumatic experience with Paul Young's version of 'LWTUA' when I was 13. My best mate had bought Mr. Young's album (on tape) which had 'LWTUA' as the second track. I was so distraught on hearing his version that I immediately threw the tape through her bedroom window. She wasn't my best mate after that. Her loss :evil4:

I keep re-reading No Regret's post looking for the sarcasm:)

I too was REAALLY crushed to get a 404 on claptonisacunt.com.

My sis and I were rioting one night at a party in her place, and generally shocking the rest of her guests. She put a Neil Diamond CD no....now 'm a tolerant, musically broadminded type of chap....but seriously, neil fucking diamond....and to make matters worse the wee bitch had produced it while going to the cd drawer for N O to piss the likers of shit tunes off. So after a fight, I got it out of the cd player...but she refused to hand over the NO CD....I then bit her neil Diamond cd into tiny pieces. Everyone was scandalized, and told me to fuck off home and so on....alll except my dear sis, who was having a fit of hyperventilated laughter on the floor ( besides she knew I'd buy her a new one, a laugh's a laugh, and sometimes it costs you 14.99)....and it was her house :)

In fairness, I'd personally say that's no bad thing. Sure, they were one-trick ponies, but it was a fucking good trick.:thumb:

I enjoy the version of The Echoing Green a lot.

Is there a bad cover of Ceremony actually?

actually they just toured with them, didn't do any direct work with them (although they did work directly with sadier and morrison). also toured with the cocteau twins, who were big fans of the band (my friend lincoln sat next to liz fraser at dean wareham's wedding back in '95).

Naah, she'd lovely. I met her very briefly at Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval solo gig a few yers back in London. She speaks proper (if you count having a Scottish accent as "proper", that is).
