TORE JOHANSSON WINS PRODUCER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2005

Tore Johansson was presented with the Producer of the Year Award at the recent Music Week Awards. He received the award at the Grosvenor House Hotel in recognition of his work with Franz Ferdinand. Produced and mixed by Tore, Franz Ferdinand's eponymous debut album has been met with widespread acclaim for its distinctive sound and original production.

Tore is also well known for his work with The Cardigans, for whom he has produced five albums, including Grand Turismo, and he is curently producing their new album. He has also recently worked with Junior Senior, OK GO and New Order amongst others.

Cool So I'm assuming this must be for the next album - I don't remember him producing anything released thus far. So there's progression taking place.

I thought that Brian Higgins had been announced as the next album's producer.

Yes, but Tore Johanson produced a track titled Sugarcane, which might be on the next album.

Actually, we lost track of what happened to this track.

But the good news is, New Order worked with the producer of the year 2005... not too bad for some grumpy old men ;)

I don't know if that's a good thing.It's a bit like "guitarist of the year" or something.As if New Order have ever aspired to be associated with the technically perfect musicians. "NEW ORDER TO WORK WITH GUITARIST OF THE YEAR, MARK KNOFFLER" :skeptic:

I know producers aren't musicians, obviously (most of the time) but do you see where i'm coming from?

Producers can have a big effect on the sound of an album. Just look at Republic :barf:.
