My brother called me yesterday and told me that on sunday at 2am in Brooklyn (where he lives) Arcade fire put on a spur of the moment concert playing new order covers and old cure covers. Just thought people would want to know

Video of them doing Boys Don't Cry.
I'm trying to find which songs they did!

Holy fucking shit.
We’re walking up the stairs from the N,R at Union Square, bout 2a.m. Sat night. Couple street musicians are banging out some tune when we get up to the park.
Holy fucking shit.
It’s Arcade Fire.
Covering New Order. Win and Will on guitars. Regine on guitar-case-as-percussion. Why the fuck not? It’s a nice night in New York, why not blow the dozen wanderers’ minds who’ve magically stumbled upon this scene?
Cover a couple more, then wrap it up with Tunnels.
Holy fucking shit.
New York is magic.
The song might have been Age of Consent... the band played it in recent shows:
Here's one you can download:

Enjoy.
That was a pretty good stab at it i thought.
The music sounded excellent, the singer even threw a whoop in near the end.
Fair play to The Arcade Fire for paying homage to the Order.
Now if only they'd play this themselves on Thursday i'd be a very happy chappie. ![]()
i thught they sounded quite new orderish but i always think that, saw them at leeds festival they were amazing

I'm sorry but I don't see it.
Arcade Fire? Ah yes, Hibster's been banging on about them for a while ![]()
Just listened to it, fair fookin play to the fire - I liked it.
I just wish the Order would bring it back.
That is bloody marvellous - I've always said they were like the Order meets Dexy's. As Shug says, if only the bloody authors could get their arses in gear and play it too....
Fun cover, but I'm not sure why no articles ever mention the singer's obvious aping of Ian McCulloch.
Can they do no wrong?
That is amazing take on an amazing song. Loved it.
Re-issue and band of the year by a million miles.

Only since the December when I got the album... Told you you should have come seen them in Barca!
it's not TBTHOG btw - its Temptation - the drumming/ rhythym is very similar...
Thanks Spotnick.Great version.I've seen The Arcade Fire twice and they deserve all the praise they're getting.
